It's just a huntsman, glorified hairy land crab and nature's jump scare. But absolutely harmless.

rationally, i understand this, and when i see people petting huntsmans, I tell myself it's no different to petting a dog

but there is absolutely no way i could even bring myself to be as calm as that woman was and i would have been the dude with the camera absolutely offering zero help to her

Yeah, you're right and sensible, and we're all sad little fraidy cats.

Now run away and play wth the big boys, and let the rest of us us stew in our own perpetual panic-stricken agonies.

This is a support group, not a biology class.

Give huntsmans a name and they aren't so spooky.

Save the fear for things like funnelwebs.

How is this the first post for 2024 in here?!

Caught this by absolute chance on my two year old daughter's bed this morning. My wife slept with her after she woke up unsettled and they'd both woken up this morning and she said the bottle is near her feet under the blanket. I lifted it up and saw this bad boy on the sheet. Thank goodness nobody was bitten.

I've caught and seen my fair share of white tails in my time, but this is definitely one of the biggest. Would have been 2-2.5 inches.

I'd scream like Ned Flanders if I saw one!! I've had white tails here occasionally but not much bigger than a 10c coin.

Spray all the entrances to the bedroom, I’ve never had issues since doing so!

Saw a spider in my shower this morning, even though it was pretty much the same size as a 5c coin, I still did the only natural thing I could do in the situation. I grabbed the hand held shower head, aimed it at the wall, got the spider no the ground then hosed it down the drain.

Maybe it was money spida.

No money for you.

Looks like the wasp wants nothing to do with this weirdo huntsman that's doing the splits for some reason

That's one of those spider wasps. Looks like the hunstman is paralyzed. They are no match for them.

The wasp would have laid it's eggs inside while it was alive.

And the larvae will eat everything and leave the organs til last to keep the meal as fresh as possible.

They are the real life xenomoprhs. Just thank your lucky stars they aren't the size of a dog.

Happy holidays!
