the Surge looks like it could be good.
i like the idea of optical HR cause i keep chewing through chest straps for some reason (i think i have toxic sweat)
the only problem is that i like to wear my watch fairly loose and i have dark skin....both not good for optical HR.

Yea, I hate chest straps, got a decent Polar but never use it as a result.

Love my polar H7 heart rate monitor, integrates simultaneously with my F11 watch (which is as old a methuselah) and the Polar Beat app on my iphone. The polar beat data then integrates with my polar loop activity tracker data (through the polar flow app on my phone). Not that I pay too much attention to the numbers or anything but I'm basically an ongoing science experiment which I like

Gday everyone, in the market for a sports watch. Got my eye on a few cheaper ones and was wondering what peoples thought's where, and if other options like the Garmin forerunner 210 or the Nike+ range are worth the extra price.

I use a polar H7 WearLink heart rate monitor which syncs to my phone and polar F11 watch. I love it
