You're confusing arrogance with excitement and anticipation.
When there has been precious little to enthuse about over 110 odd years, then a sniff of good times is exciting.
We've waited a very long time and I hope you'll forgive us if our feelings show.
If it's a false dawn then so be it. Been there, had those. They are, however, playing a brand of footy I've never seen them play before and I'm going to enjoy it.
If you think we're over the top - tough.:D
I have trouble at times expressing myself with the written word so I would like to reiterate exactly what Fred has posted, would have liked to have written that.

Please let us know when that lid is officially off because you guys wouldn't want to get carried away or anything & start talking about domination & dynasties. Especially with your history (hmmm)
I wasn't around this forum last year but were Collingwood fans as anal & predicting total domination before they'd even acheived anything? At least Collingwood have a sort of successful history to reflect on but where does this StKilda arrogance come from? By all means enjoy the fact that your teams undefeated after 9 weeks but you've got a long long long way to go before you can even claim this years flag let alone imply that your going to be anything like a dynasty. The dynansties in the last 20 years (Essendon, Hawthorn, WC, Adelaide & now Brisbane) have all achieved more than Stkilda's entire history & until you actually get somewhere near there I can't see how your have any grounds for arrogance.

Who are you talking to? Voices in your head?

Fred.

No excitement is allowed in modern sports. Must never get ahead of yourself. Only worry about the next task ahead. Even if you happen to win the flag, you must then think about back to back. There is no room for complacency or enjoyment.

One would do me, but soon.

I had 96, you had 97. so working on the 8 year theory X+1, it is the Swans turn this year, and you have to wait until next year.

Can't do that.

See that wasn't so hard. Thanks for finally having the guts to admit it.

I'd suggest you stay out of burning buildings.

What he said

and furthermore - where is the evidence of Saints supporters showing arrogance - apart maybe from 1 or 2 during the school holidays and they would be some 1% of their supporters...

Your spoken word isn't too flash after a couple of froffys either ;)

Well 40 something posts and not one rebutting my argument.

And i dont know where the arrogance perception comes from. I have put forward a perfectly logical argument about them being overrated, my team that is, so if anything, I should be accused of being negative and a pessimist. :)

Happy to see most people here too the post in the way it was intended, a bit of wry fun. Must be a cultural thing (you made ne say that skipper Kelly :p )

While I can't argue with your initial point (not beating teams above them), can it then be argued that Collingwood and Adelaide are two of the better performing teams because 100% of their wins have come from teams above them?

Whole different argument, but obviously underrated
