Have been to many a football stadium, the MCG packed to the rafters the best, but in terms of sports stadiums, nothing beats walking into a packed Madison Square Gardens in NYC for the basketball.

The usher told me when I walked in that he'd worked there for 27 years and the look on my face was why he kept doing it. I must have been awestruck because it was sensational. I even went back 2 nights later!

I went to Maracana in the late 90's and watched a final between Flamengo-Vasco, crowd of 148,000 brasilians going mental, i believe that other than watching Brasil play a world cup match there it (fla-vas) is the best most atmospheric sporting event that exists on planet earth. Makes any afl encounter look like a game of lawn bowls, and that includes any final or anzac day match you can ever think of.

For Footy games -
MCG
Telstra Dome
Kardinia Park
Princes Park
Waverley Park

For training/practice matches/just looking -
Junction Oval
Victoria Park
Lakeside Oval
Moorabbin
Punt Road Oval
Glenferrie Oval

This year, I will add York Park and SCG/Telstra Stadium to my list, I am hoping to attend games there this year. Never been interstate for Footy before, should be exciting (was planning to go to Footy Park to watch the Wiz Cup, but my brother refused to go, and I will not go alone)

Olympiakos v Panathinaikos 1998 in the Olympic Stadium in athens

80,000+ fans for just a season match. Fans did not intermingle obviously -- one side Olympiakos the other Panathinaikos. Fantastic atmosphere, however i also realised how lucky we are in Australia to be able to support opposing clubs and can still sit next to each other without fearing for our lives.

OH i forgot to mention, been to the San Siro (italy) -- fantastic stadium, great atmosphere and wembley stadium for an FA CUP final Manchester v Newcastle -- have a cousin who worked at the stadium and managed to get me two tickets -- Probably just beats the atmosphere of a Grand Final

Current stadiums:

Gabba
MCG
SCG
Subi
Optus [shudder] (is it STILL current?)
Telstra Dome (for after GF celebrations only)
Skilled (although it was called something else then)

Also went to Carrara, Waverley, Junction, Moorabbin and a few others, also it seems like all the Victorian country grounds around the Gippsland area.

I've been to (AFL venues)-

Windy Hill, MCG, Telstra Dome, Victoria Park, Western Oval, Kardinia Park, Waverly

The best stadium over here I've been to is Pacific Bell Park in San Francisco,
and the Arrowhead Pond here in Los Angeles (home of the Mighty Ducks) is great ... although like Waverly, it's a good 30 minutes south of downtown LA and parking is a hassle!

I was only thinking current AFL grounds but since everybody is including every ground they've ever been to I have to add

Leichardt Oval
Penrith Stadium
Parramatta Stadium
