What are everyone's thoughts on him becoming a permanent fixture at CHF? Before the start of the season I was thinking either Gaspar or McDougall, but now I'm thinking Staker may very well be a better option than both of them.

Then again, maybe I'm just being sentimental. He reminds me so much of another center half forward we had back in the mid-90's

I think he'll more have a role as a third tall.

He's not the biggest body in the world, and i don't think he ever will be, and i think he'd be a fantastic assett to any team sought of floating around the forward line just taking grabs, picking up loose ball.

Just say in the future we had Johnson/Doogs at FF and Gaspar/McDougall at CHF, then those are two really big bodies (particularly Jonno) while Staker at 194cm with the agility of someone at 184cm is going to cause huge problems.

If you put someone tall enough on him, he'll beat them at ground level, if you put someone more agile on him, he'll beat them in the air - well at least thats the hope for the future anyway.

But you get the feeling as a CHF, he may have problems holding his grounds against some of the bigger CHB's in the comp and taking marks consistently in that area (which is ultimately what you want your CHF to do). Whereas Gaspar and Doogs (particluarly TG) are good marks in both contested and one on one situations.

I've just thought of who i'd envisage him being like - Mark (or is it Michael) Stevens from the Crows. Although i think Staker is an infinately more talented player.

Dont think he is big enough to be a CHF? I think he wears those long sleeves to hide how skinny he is. But a HFFer is his best spot, has great agility and speed but also has fantastic hands. Can take a mark and is very good at ground level. Gotta start kicking some goals though...

Preferably as the third tall on a flank. Too tall for a lot more agile defenders, too mobile for taller ones. Use him across CHF sparingly.

For the Brisbane game he was the best option at Woosha's disposal for that postion. He presented well and held onto a few strong marks. I'd rather him as a tall flanker when Gassy returns but at least he has been exposed to the position and is one more alternative we have there. Jako also plays well in that postion and I think match ups will determine who plays there week to week, throw the oppostion a bit with that so called flexibility

Dont think he is the answer for CHF
id use him more as a floating 3rd tall in the forward line
believe he is more suited up forward than down back...

I think that Stalker, just like Mitchell White, is better suited to play at HF flank, as third tall option.

He had a good game against the Lions, but I remember that his previous game was very poor; he didn't seem to try hard enough. I agree with those of you who believe he needs to put a few more kg of muscle, and I would add that he need to attack the ball harder.
