The number of 'fans' who are predicting doom and gloom all of a sudden need to take a good hard look at themselves.

Yes we are playing bad, but we are only a few games away from returning to form. It's better to be out of form and experience our bad run of injuries now then at the end of the season.

To come back into this team we have:
Kerr
Cousins
Hansen
Fletcher
Stenglein
Wirrapanda
Butler
Graham
Nicoski
Staker

Those are guys who are either in or around our best 22 and will lift what is currently a struggling outfit.

There might be one heck of a storm cloud over us at the moment, but there is also one heck of a silver lining to come as well.

Stand up and be counted Eagles supporters, your club needs you in moments like this, not only when things are going well!

Yes, we have a lot of senior players to come back.

Problem is though, the majority of our games between now and the end of the season are very, very tough and against other sides fighting for a spot in the 8. Not the ideal situation to be bringing players back from weeks and months on the sidelines.

The percentage advantage we had over a lot of teams also took a battering today.

Anyone with half a peanut for a brain can see we are hurting from injuries. You can't honestly expect a win under these circumstances.

It's OK - shit happens. There is still time to recover before the end of the season.

Could this be the sting in the tail we need in order to go back-to-back? I would like to think so...

Everyone needs to keep their cool. Nothing drastic has to occur (actually nothing drastic can occur...the team is at rock bottom at the moment). Injuries are unavoidable.

If we can get our key men back on the field prior to the finals its anyones Premiership.

:)

Yes you are right, and you can probably add Judd to that list as it is clear that he's not fit.

However, although it is clearly possibly to win the flag, it is becoming harder and harder. To have a real good shot at the premiership we need to finish top four, and preferably top 2. Both of these are becoming less likely.

We'll see what happens. I am optimistic however, although not overly so.

The season is gone, you can't flick that switch on / off at will, as you seem to alude to.

Let me ask you this. If Brisbane had their 4 star midfielders missing in the years they won the cup, how do you think they would have gone?

You're right in that we the switch can't be flicked on straight away, but WC still have 7 more games to build some momentum leading into the finals series. I wouldn't write off our premiership chances until we're out of the running for the 8, which shouldn't happen.

After today's pathetic we are still lingering in the top four and looks certain to stay like that after this round (unless either bombers/WB belt the other or Roos flog Freo) and that means we still have time to become good without being in a bad position on the ladder (though things can change if we lose next week). Still optimistic though :thumbsu:

The easy option is to fall off them, like SO many swans and dockers have done this year. We've all bagged them, and they'll bag us.

We have to be proud. Think how good it CAN be. Think how good it WILL be.

We are copping it sweet on here at the moment beacuse people love it when we fall in a hole. It happens when you're the best and a bunch of arrogant bastards. The reality is that there is a lot of upside coming as we head towards the finals. I still think we have a very good chance of finishing top 4 or 2.

Boys I havent seen this game yet.

I have it on tape and am waiting for me little ones to go nye-nye's before I scrutinize this.............game. :(

From what Im reading this pretty much a normal response including Cuzzys' ABANDON SHIP!!!! threads and posts.

We will bounce back, believe people believe.

But, IF JUDD IS INJURED TELL US FFS, ENOUGH OF THE GAMES. :thumbsu:

I am a true blue Eagle fan and will never jump off but mate I was there today and that was the most embarrased I have ever been. That crap that this great club served up today was utter GARBAGE and for anyone to get on here and say that us supporters should stand up I would like you guys to do me a favour GET DOWN TO TRAINING AND SEND THIS SAME MESSAGE TO THE BOYS AND THE COACHES.

Great thread. However, you have to remember that it is also the players who do the wrong thing in the first place and get themselves reported and then get themselves suspended. Injuries are another thing and confidence is the third thing. Pity that you guys lost. Tipped you guys to win.

it will take a lot for us to "bounce back" from that, our confidence has taken an almighty hammering!

Judd IS injured make no mistake about that! I felt very sad watching him hobble around after the game.:(

When I said bounce back I didnt mean this season.

Maybe we can sneak in and pinch the flag but you have to be real.

I dont care who is out there a certain spark is missing.

This season is long and is telling on us.

Take the good with the bad no matter how much it hurts. :thumbsu:

Bring on Sydney!! :thumbsu:

These are the times when true supporters character shine through....very easy to get down in the dumps and jump off but it was precisely this time last year when we were basically considered GAWN aswell.....we'll see a different side this week....short memories
