better off just concentrating on the neafl team rather then stockpilling players
Didn't realise they were being "stockpiled". I don't think there'll be a closing down sale any time soon!

Any club's squad is going to be about 50 players. That's probably about what Aspley has. What club (or handfull of clubs) is going to be able to cope with that without putting their own loyal players out of a game?

G'day fellas 3 young players from ballarat football league looking to play at caloundra next season just would need help with work and somewhere to stay till they find there feet pm anyone from caloundra

Definate for Caloundra? Sandgate in Premier Div could probably help them out if they can play footy. Only 40 mins to Caloundra from Sandgate!

LOL - nice try Sweetie!! What about Maroochy if you wanted to play in that comp and not make a living out of getting on first name basis with the Bruce Hwy!! Thats a ridiculous suggestion.

Private Message me and I will get some one from caloundra to call you.

You call them Barry as you are existing coach of Caloundra.Come to Broady/Surfers,depending on your playing ability boys and be well coached.Barry couldn't play and cannot coach.Maynes worst ever player which says it all

Whats the News around SA clubs this part of the year ?

Who has started Pre season ?

other topics to discuss..
- Nick alridge back to wynumm?
- Uni branded chokers?
- Aspley fielding a team?? or not?
- Alex New coach ? more mature players?
- Plummer to carry the bears in 2012?
- Caloundra player walk out ?
- Kings favourite to go back to back ?

- Uni branded chokers?
?

I think that will be a very derogatory and unfair tag to wear. The boys played against a very strong and refocused Kings squad and they certainly played the better footy and made the most of the opportunities. The dealt with the grand final pressure, made the better decisions, used the ball better all day.

It didn't help Uni having gone in without a one helleva key player in Luke Wray but at the same time, the game was certainly won by the Kings.

Looking forward to 2012. Pre-season for UQ isn't too far away. Hopefully with the return of the Under 18's program to UQ for next season will be adding further future depth to the club and ensure the Red Lions can reach further finals success in the coming years

For the record i actually watched the game!

Uni were never really a chance
Not enough ball winners
The kings just wanted it much more

That tag maybe a little unfair...
you have to be a great team...before u can choke..

Luke Wray N.O 1 Jumper?
if thats the bloke ur referring too?
He wouldnt have helped seems to love the easy footy to much classy player but cant win his own footy

From the sounds of your posts, you don't think much of UQ AFC. Am I right?

Thats ok if you don't think much of us. It seems no one wants to say anything good about Uni in the last year or two, from either Division 1 or Division 2. But considering the year we've had making 2 grand finals, perhaps we'll get to change that up.

Which club are you affiliated with by the way?

Yeah, you're blowing things way out of proportion there. As a UQ Div 2 player watching that game from the sideline it was clear that Coorparoo played a better game and were deserved victors on the day. When push came to shove, the Kings clearly wanted it more. It was obvious that they were spurred on by the memory of losing the Grand Final the year before, and it shouldn't be underestimated how big a difference that made. They simply looked like a team who would do anything to ensure that they did not lose two in a row.

Having said all of that, I don't think UQ played a bad game and certainly don't think that they deserve a chokers tag. I have no doubt that the UQ Div 1 players were hurt badly being run over by a team that simply refused to lose, and they will have learned a lesson from that experience. They will return next year with twice the hunger and intensity, and I am certain that when (not if) they are in the same situation as this year, they will be the ones that have that unbeatable desperation and they will put whoever they are facing to the sword.

Us boys in Div 2 will probably remain as the feeder squad for the Div 1 teams and will struggle to get wins on the board, but over the last year or two we've seen a handful of our boys push up an claim a spot in the higher teams. I am sure our club is getting stronger as a result, and the Red Lions will be a force to be reckoned with in 2012.

Wouldnt say that i am affiliated with any club i do know people that play at aspley kenmore and alex.

As for not respecting uni. you are correct in a way, from what i saw you had a very talented side but seemed to lack the players that put in the hard yards.. from what i have heard teams seem to love playing you know that yous dont like the hard body on body stuff...but are prepared to run teams off their feet.

hahaha good to see the keyboard warriors are back at it!!

interesting opinion abouve stanley based on the observations of a grand final.... not quite sure how one game would allow you to interpret that players wouldnt put the hard yards in... your obviously a better judge then many of us. Can tell you from a player in Div 1 last year that there werent to many teams that loved playing UQ - finishing on top of the ladder in both grades would probably attest to that.

Just because a team finished the season on top ...doesnt always reflect how good teams were....from what i saw last year.. Coorparoo seems to be the team everyone hating playing...Also helps they have players from Mt gravatt coming back from time to time...i.e Morrison, Savage .

Scottsdale Drive ? How are the boys from you end of the highway preparing for 2012? think you will put up more of a show away from home?

So the fact the UQ Seniors had the minor premiership wrapped up before the final home and away game still isn't a reflection of how well Uni performed this season? Just so I am reading you correctly, you judge a team by not how they perform but how much clubs feel about a team in general?
