First Origin match I'll be attending, looking forward to it. Born in Sydney so will be on my own in supporting New South Wales, sitting with my Victorian-born, Queensland-supporting mates.

Well, I'll be there with a couple of mates, and we were all born in NSW, so there will be at least 4 of us there supporting the Blues ;).

Victorian queenslanders? Castrate them now. Hell NSW only exists to try and prevent the interbreeding of victorians and queenslanders.

C'mon you Blues!

Pretty much all Victorians who know the difference between League and Union support Queensland in Origin, as a number of Storm players are Cane Toads, and Victorians generally hate New South Wales more than Queensland.

I was born and bred in NSW and love state of origin, but not one of my vic mates wanted to come to this, so **** em, i'll be there by myself supporting the mighty Blues. At least your mates wanted to go.

Do they use phrases like "I don't follow the Storm, I'll only watch Rugby when the Wallabies play".

Not that I really want to get into an argument... but I don't mind when people (i.e. Victorians, generally) call Rugby league "Rugby" as the league variety has just as much right to be called "Rugby" as Rugby union does... English Rugby league fans call their game "Rugby" all the time and in France both games are primarily known as Rugby as well (i.e. "Rugby a Treize" and "Rugby a Quinze").

What about when they think they are the same sport?

CA, understand completely where you are coming from but SJ is right. It's mostly a point of ignorance down here when it's referred to globally as 'Rugby'

Although these days, I'd suggest RL has a far greater profile in Victoria than RU and I generally assume they mean League when they say 'Rugby'

^^ :thumbsu: :D

GO YOU MIGHTY BLUES! Only 8 and a bit hours to go :)
