Nice to be on the other side of it for a change.

They didn't cost the match though, and that is one thing I'll say. We have to be better than that. Still the one thing that annoys me is the forward pass, the strip one I get although heaven knows why the video ref can't pull that up like they did for Gagai's knock on, which was the correct call. There is a line right there, you have dead set 1 job as a touch judge is there any chance of watching the ball, it's not hard to tell if a ball has gone forward. That is a general comment as the amount of forward passes they miss and then they randomly pick one out is a joke. It is also why I've been in favour of a captions challenge being introduced.

I've missed the Chambers incident which he's been given a one match suspension.
When did this happen???

Late in game against Damien Cook, was a cheap shot. Cook was wounded.

It was fun. Drank too much. Seemed to be full strength alcohol which was a nice change from what's normally dished up at the MCG.

They're right to bring it here every 3 years. If it were annual and people remembered what the view was like crowds would drop right off. I was near a corner and even then was a long way back.

Glad I get to watch the next game on TV.

I was on about the 40m line in the Southern and it was a great view! You were closer than I was at ANZ for the 2016 GF and it was alright.

The ticket prices help, its a lot cheaper than the game in Sydney, I paid $15 for last nights game, just looking at Game 2 and about $95 is the cheapest!!!

Shame the MCC members didn't show up

On the game itself, it was great to see a penalty or 2 against the QLD skipper, hasn't happened in at least 10 years!!!

Without Valentine Holmes, QLD wouldn't even be in the contest. As for Inglis, he may have played well but he also gave away a couple of dumb penalties that were costly, went too hard, bit of a cheap shot merchant, always has been.

It was good to see the referees let it go, that doesn't suit QLD who usually get on top with a few cheap penalties

Sure...if you mean...

a) a 3m forward pass being given for NSW's Addo Carr try
b) the blatant non-strip call against Crighton (NSW scored off the back of that)

Refs didn't lose QLD the game but they were ordinary at best.

Jesus I’m a Queensland supporter and this is stretch.

The pass was forward but it’s touch and go, 3m please.

Strip? Gagai should have secured the ball.

We lost, nsw were better.

He passed it 11/12m out from the line and the bloke caught it 8-9m out. It’s at least 2m forward. Was a howler.

It was a strip they are called that way every week. If you aren’t giving that as a strip don’t call them every week at club level. I’m not fussed but you have to be consistent.

Neither calls cost us the match- Chambers being a useless lug and Walters not playing Ponga did.

Ball can float forward in the pass usually gives about a metre leeway. I don't want that called ever.

Its a 50/50 at best strip, if Dane hadn't been holding the thing like a loaf of bread he wouldn't have lost it.

Each to their own I disagree with the forward pass thing. I want every forward pass called. It’s about time players pass the ball backwards for once.

I just feel we did get the rough end of the pineapple with the refs they were very ordinary. Now I’m not saying they cost us the match though.

Fair. I disagree, didn't notice the refs which to me is always a good sign.

Each to their own and overall some great signs.

- Jai Arrow, we’ve found a player here. Didn’t get a lot of minutes but he did really well.
- Kaufusi really surprised me outstanding game.
- Inglis as captain I was sceptical but great game!
- Morgan. I really wish he could play like that in the halves.
- Gagai and Holmes. These two are just elite wingers. Gagai to score antry is free money every Origin the bloke never plays a bad one!

Question pursuant to nothing in particular: do you have to currently play in the NRL to be selected for an Origin team?

Alfie Langer was picked out of the English Super League a long time ago now. I suspect you don't currently have to be playing NRL, but I couldn't see a scenario where someone would be picked from another league.
