The way I see it St Kilda is a club that has been bullied and humiliated for over a century. Not surprising to see them retaliate and try taking it out on someone else, problem is the targets they choose. Defenseless women, troubled teen girls, impressionable young men, basically the weakest elements of society.
Kim did get a substantial payout from the settlement with St Kilda but the damage to her psyche is irreversible.

Although she's clearly a bit of a slot machine, I feel for this girl, because she's been taken advantage of by the predator Sam Gilbert, then cast aside when she was pregnant. The fact that she wasn't pregnant is irrelevant, because the predator believed she was, and cast her aside anyway.

The scarier thing is that other women will be vulnerable to the predator's traps. How many other 16 year olds has this predator taken advantage of, only to callously abandon??
