Storm been stripped of premierships

No the Storm are pretty much ****ed. This year as Dim said they won't get over 10,000 fans. I wouldn't be surprised if they get around 2000 to a game. They've shafted their own fans and they won't forget it. And why would you turn up to cheer your team on when they can't win?
As for rebuilding they are $700,000 over the cap so they'll have to lose a Smith, Inglis or Slater. They are in big big trouble and I they're a tainted club. It will take them ten years or more to get to where they were before this happened.
Not to mention all the sponsors that will pull out, the $500,000 fine and the $1.1 million they have to pay back.
We are royally ****ed. I give it a month...tops.

The Parramatta and Manly should be given the premierships it is as simple as that. In the Tour de France when somebody is done for cheating the person in 2nd is named the winner. Stupid decision by the NRL.

I could see this turning Melbourne sports fans away from the Rebels. Rugby is Rugby to a lot of Melbournians.

As a Para supporter who watched the GF at the Crown Casino I feel very ripped off.

Won't kill the franchise, News will never give up on the Storm.

You reap what you sow. They've completely dominated the competition for years based on long-term, systematic and massive cheating. Condeming them to a season of dead rubbers doesn't seem wise from a commercial perspective, but the punishment is well and truly deserved.

I just feel sick. No fan of rugby league - scratch that, Australian sport - should be enjoying this.

It's a little different. I don't want the premiership handed over to us, as it would have an * next to it in my opinion.

I feel ****ing sick that the ****wits running the Storm and whoever else was involved (was Ribot in on it?) would be so dumb to start this only a couple of years after the Bulldogs were found out. I suspect that Waldron might not have a job at the Rebels for much longer.

I think the penalties are fair enough, as they cover the period of cheating. What I am curious about is who was the brave soul that handed over the second set of contracts/books?

Reading some of the comments on League Unlimited, i'm disgusted with the attitude of apparent NRL fans from Qld and NSW. Idiots thinking this is good for the game etc, quite sad tbh.

Just revealed on ACA that One way the Storm have been rorting the cap by taken money
out of match day hospitality bills and giving it to the players as extra match day payments.

From a poster on that forum.

Very sad news for the fans but the punishment is very deserved.

Suffice to say it's ****ed the NRL in Melbourne. They won't be able to get back to the position they were in yesterday for years and years. Having the Super 15 team start next year and the second A-League team starting this August just makes it even worse for them.

Anyone who thinks these Melbourne Storm revelations are good for rugby league or the NRL is either an idiot or simply doesn't want the game to expand outside of NSW and QLD (i.e. the muppets of the LeagueUnlimited forums).
