Strauchnie IS A SUPERSTAR

I get a bit of a laugh out of Strauchnie but Aussie TV comedy as a whole is crap.

The Wedge, Skithouse, The Ronnie Johns show, Comedy Inc are all absolute shit.

The only decent ones I can think of are the Chasers productions (CNNNN and The War on everything) and the D generation (The Castle, Late Show).

Blame the Aussie TV comedy culture resorting to trash skit comedy which really just isnt funny.

Anyone seen Stupid, Stupid Men? I thought that was pretty clever.

Frontline was always very good. (Think that was the D Gen crew too.)

British TV isn't above stupid skit comedy either. How Little Britain has become a world wide phenomenon is beyond me. It's funny the first few times you watch it but you soon start to feel like you are watching the same characters doing the same jokes over and over again.

Men Behaving Badly has to be one of the best shows ever made though imo.

As I said, obviously he is doing something right because so many people like him and that is his aim. My sense of humour doesn't appreciate him. I'm sure that I find things funny which you don't and vice versa

You keep telling us about your sense of humour. I'm yet to pick it up

:D:D:D

Seinfeld, older simpsons episodes. Shows that involve intelligence to understand the jokes.

And no I don't find Frasier remotely funny

I don't prefer anything or anybody..things that make me laugh are funny, those that don't, aren't.

Everyone I know says and does funny things.

There are just those on here who have this self righteous attitude and because of it are too scared to say that they occasionally laugh to things which are just stupid. Give me a break, it's not a f***ing contest

agree crackers......why do people have to categorise everything. If it's funny its funny. I don't think Rove is a good comedian but there have been times when he has had me pissing myself laughing and other times when i just think, "that's weak as". Goes with every type of comedy or comedian.

Re: Rate a player: Strauchnie

His goal assist in the last quarter reminded me of Nick Davis' winning goal vs Geelong in the 2005 Semi Final.
Beautiful anticiption. Good pick up. Quick thinking.
Uncanny skills from the big fella. :thumbsu:

I thought the tumble he took for his first goal was a bit overdone. Pikey gave him a decent ol' shove and the free was probably there, but he reminded a bit of Matty Lloyd, the way he kept fell over. The replay of his later dive was even worse. A softcock effort and a discredit to the game.

He looked a bit Like Scotty Cummings at times and struggled to bend down to gather the ball.
Maybe his hamstrings were playing up. Maybe his spare tyre needs to be deflated :)

The way he ran his lap of honour, high-fived everyone and signed autographs reminded me of all those WA wankers that play for West Coast and Fremantle. No harm done, but I don't like it. It shows disrespect for your opponents [he said in his best Robert Walls voice]

Nice candid interview at the end. If only more footballers were as honest as Strauchanie.
I'd probably pay attention to all those dumb interviews if they were.

Because the characters are all so great. (And the way they interact with each other of course.) George and Kramer especially. And Georges parents.

George Costanza is up their with Basil Fawlty, Homer Simpson and Stewie Griffen as alltime classic comedy characters I reckon.

Fasier is just over the top English humour. It's a show you can imagine 2 50 year olds watching whilst sipping their chardonnay

see i am not going to hold it against you for not liking it but your comments about 2 50 year olds watching it whilst sipping wine makes it clear that you either don't watch it or are too dumb to understand it coz that is a very clever well written show and has nothing to do with it being marketed to old fuddy dudds. I love Eddie murphy and a lots of really dark out there humour but i appreciate Frasier too. It's very clever and IMO, very funny.

Well according to you I don't because I don't like Stracuchine

I never said that....I never intimated that....and I haven't even said that I particularly like Stauchnie.

What I have been doing is pointing out to you and your "intelligent" friends that humour is all subjective and no-one can define what is "funny" and what is not.

You can go back and re-read the whole thread if you like.

That's your opinion only.

I find some of the stuff they do is just lame......my opinion only

No, our sense of humour just doesn't go that low and doesn't border stupidity.

Or alternatively anyone who likes him have no idea what comedy is, and are Rove fans.
My husband and I only watched the game because Strauchnie was playing and did make us laugh with some of his antics...I dont find majority of comedians funny, but I like STAUCHNIE character because he is actually very understated in the humour, not over the top..and as for your reference to must like ROVE..let me tell you that we cant stand Rove or anything about the show..Never watch it!!...tried to once, lasted 5 mins...humour was forced and way over the top and just plain stupid....Strauchnie Rocks!! BOG 4 sure...:thumbsu:
