Is the Stringer situation beyond repair? Now in its correct thread, even if nobody asked for it.

Trade Radio launces today at 11.00am and Jake is going to help the launch it seems.
Things will be clearer (e.g I am leaving the Dogs and hope to go to x y z clubs) or we will be more confused as ever and none the wiser.

I say if he was to announce anything huge it would be on a footy show that pays more $
It is becoming a soap opera.

I'm still holding onto a glimmer of hope that this whole mess can be sorted out and we move forward with Jake committing to the club next year and beyond.

But hearing he is going on trade radio with Connors and Dodo just does not sound good at all. Could be a train wreck.

Yes you could pick a team packed with Brownlow medalists and AAs but we haven't got rid of many good players for a long time.

Time to move on from the seventies and eighties m8

That's right , but we are about to !

We all know how talented he is, no one including Bevo would of wanted it to come to this. The decision to trade Jake would of taken on a whim and for a couple of little indiscretions. The team has to have standards and discipline.
This is what makes no sense. Why wasn't he dropped in 2017 if he wasn't doing the required preparation and recovery?

We were very thin on the ground for forwards who were fit enough. Also his reputation gave him some points I suppose. We just don't know what went on and what he was told to do and what he promised to do but didn't. Will never know the full story probably.

That's a great way to send a message to a young group.
"Hey guys. We have these non negotiable rules that apply to everyone. Well except when we need to win. Or we have injuries. Or when you're really talented."

"Connors: We were called to a meeting at the Bulldogs with Beveridge & Chris Grant where they expressed a desire for a trade"

"Stringer: It was shock and (I was) upset. I've just got to move on and see what happens over next few weeks "

"Connors: I don't think it's irretrievable (at the Dogs)."

"Stringer: I'd be lying if I could say I've done everything right over my time"

"Stringer: There's a whole heap of things I could've done better. I'm really looking forward to what's next in my life"

"Stringer: I've never been late to training"

Hmmm, sounds like Stringer might be more gone than his manager. In fairness sounds like the club have really given him the boot.

"Connors: Jake didn't seek a trade but now we're going to (look at it). We'll nominate a club in the next few weeks"

"Stringer: "Most of the clubs appeal to me. It's about meeting them and going from there."

"Stringer: There's a lot of clubs that appeal. I'm going to meet with them in the next few weeks "

"Stringer: "I've got some good relationship with Moons & Scarlo (at Geelong).""

Looking at Jake's persona and what he has said on stage... I have no doubt that they are moving on a star (Stringer) to facilitate a trade to get another star in. My take is that Bevo and Grant became aware that someone big is available a week after the Stringer exit interview. Hence why they came back a week later to tell Jake's Manager that he was now on the trade table.
i would suggest that they want a top 10 pick for Jake, package that up with pick 11 and then use those 2 picks to land Lever.

So Jake Stringer and our 1st for Jake Lever?? Yeah No thanks.

".@barrettdamian: "What has last 18 months taught you?"
Stringer: "It's taught me a lot, I can't take anything for granted.""

"Stringer: "It's definitely something I can see myself doing, mid-fwd or fwd-mid role.""

"Dodoro on what Stringer is worth: "We'll wait & see who he nominates first.""

"Stringer on Beveridge: "I haven't had a run in with him, I wish him all the best.""

"Stringer tells us first exit meeting he walked out "confident". Then got a phone call and told he was up for trade"

".@thelistmanager: "Are you surprised the Dogs went public?" Connors: "I don't think so. It's a public business. There's no right or wrong.""

"Stringer on being put up for trade: "I didn't think I would be!""

".@barrettdamian: "Did you party too hard after the flag?" Stringer: "No. We enjoyed it, as we should have, but we came back hungry.""

"Stringer on Dogs: "They'll bounce back, Libba, Dal (Dahlhaus), they'll be back... all my best mates.""

"Stringer on being a scapegoat: "I don't blame anyone but myself (for a poor season).""

Just sad really. A sad tale.

I don't know who's to blame, but surely there was a better way to handle this on all sides. It's a fcuking circus. A talented player who doesn't want to leave, a manager who says it's not irretrievable, and a club that says... what, exactly?

Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, and here I am stuck in the middle... with my membership....
