I got Goodes and he has been my biggest dissapointment for me this week.

However i am not sure if i should waste a trade getting rid of him, because he could fire up this week and pull a huge number. But then if he does that he could get another 30 point game the following week. So its a hard choice.

If your going to trade him, best do it before round 3 when the prices change.

You can't trade players like Goodes. Once they're in they stay in. He is so much better than that performance he put in. Stick with him. He'll deliver.

Could be many other threads with titles such as:
- Burnt by Gram, Deledio
- Burnt by Symes
- Burnt by Mattner
- Burnt by Bird
- Burnt by Dyson

I'm sure many people have had their scores dramatically reduced by players underperforming

Big difference is, none of those guys DT champs like Stants and Goodes. Mattner, Dyson have been consistently low and DT scorers - and while PS form might convince people otherwise, Stants and Goodes are both proven.

Stanton, Goodes and Burgoyne did me this week.

You can't name a single proven "DT champ" who has never had a low score. I don't see any point to this thread.

That wasn't the point. I agree that the thread isn't neccessary. What I was disagreeing with was the players he mentioned - they were all risky selections, some of which highly likely to fail - whereas guys like Stanton and to a lesser extent Goodes are gun scorers - to have both score as bad as they did is bad luck.

i hope so, i have only goy stants.

I read in the Age today that Roos wasn't very happy with Goodes, and is planning to give him a tagging job on Cornes next week.

"...it's very hard to win a game of footy if one of your best players is getting 7 (possessions). He just looked like he wasn't working very hard and that's something he just needs to address himself" - Roos, The Age Sport, Monday, P4

The coach has given him a challenge...surely a player of his quality will step up after hearing those words.

Aw shit.....is that Chad or Kane Cornes? hopefully not Chad :p.

But if he tags he will get a really crap score i recon.....hrrrm this is convincing me to trade him now.

Chad, which sucks for me as I also have him in my team!

But, in Round 8 last year Goodes turned around his early season form slump by tagging Cornes, hence the reason Roos wants to give it another go.

He picked up a lot of the ball in the that game, and he's not exactly a defensive negating tagger (like Brady Rawlings) so I'm going to see what happens in Round 2 before trade decisions.

it would really suck if he completely shut down cornes...

oh well i suppose most teams have him

Goodes got 10 touches, Chad got 15! Yikes
