By virtue of the fact that you're from WA, I'll assume you know more about him than I do.
What's wrong with him?
Also we've had our share of spuds.

Don't listen to the bitter Freo fans.

Came a close 2nd in the Essendon job.

Was the positional coach who turned Judd, Kerr and Cousins into one of the best midfields of all time. In recent times he has moved forward and has helped Josh Kennedy turn from a spud at Carlton into a very good player.

He won't do much to raise the profile of your club but if you want a great development coach then he is your man. Would bring with him a wealth of knowledge from the Eagles.

All a coach has to do is start winning and the Tiger hordes will come from everywhere.

Was overlooked for two senior jobs in last couple of years, Essendon & Melbourne.

Like Sheeds, if not good enough to get the Melbourne job then quite likely hasn't go the package needed for AFL.

At 40 hehas been in the system for a while and should stand out above the rest, but does he?

Anyone could have coached a midfield with those players to success. If he is so good with player 'development' why was he so quick to plead with Worsfold to let him take the forward line after Judd and Cousins left?

Kennedy was a high pick, a KPP player just getting to an age when you would expect him to start showing something, hardly surprising that he did.

Sumich is an unknown. It's hard to get a read on how well he would go as the head coach. You have one player at the club that would have a very good idea of his suitability.

I would certainly be talking to Cousins .
