Simple fact is they have put themselves in a position to contend and have been up there a long time.The addition of Motlop and maybe one or two others and they're again in with a chance.
You generally find most people critical of teams that get to the big one but don't succeed are from clubs where success in recent times has been modest.
Not an Eagles supporter, but there recent record - albeit without a premiership - stacks up better than all bar Imps I would suggest.
Damn hard to win flags these days, particularly at country level where the paying field is less even then it is at elite level!

Your certainly right albeit in Robinvales case i would suggest they are sitting in a much healthier financial position then the majority of other clubs therefore should be advanteged by the less even playing field

well guys the season if definately heating up with recruits and so fourth heard a rumour from a reliable source in melbourne that sth mildura recruited 3-4 ex williamstown players for the up coming season, can anyone at sth confirm this.....

Rvale have way more money than any other SFL club, they spend more like a CMFL club but at the end of the day that only gets you so far- look at Kerang in CMFL. Yes Rvale have put themselves in a position to contend but have failed bigtime on the big stage 85 and 93 points is a massive failure and there are no prizes for 2nd best.
What is the reason? Who has left? whats Markham doing he has been linked to heaps of clubs
Not to rub salt into the wounds but you could add 65 to that list from the 2006 GF.
However if a couple more come with motlop you would have to pencil them in as favorites at this stage. And in R/Vales Defence the last two years they came from outside the top 2 which is a good effort in my book.

actually finished 2nd in 2008 and 3rd only on percentage in 2009

Didn't actually catch the games so not real sure but if your referring to Moncur as one of the three, he would be one of the most team orientated players i have seen.
Saw a couple of Robinvales committeemen at golie pub on saturday talking to a current Mildura player and a former Mildura player whom plays for Robinvale now , who looks like he has put on at least 10 kgs of muscle over the summer

I thought he was contracted if so why did he quit, perhaps he got a payout to do it.
Maybe he felt it was the right thing to do for all concerned.

I will stick up for Ryan here as he was in the toilet when the other 2 were thrown out. He was standing with me and a bouncer walked up and punched him on the chin for no reason at all, dont blame him for reacting.
