Creating a list of what the Club has achieved over his tenure. I am sure I am missing things but these are the things can come to the top of my head.
  • Joined the AFLW and made the Finals in our first season
  • Club Academies joining the TAC Cup/Nab League/Coates Talent League for some of the season
  • Joining the VFL and making a club first- Preliminary Final in 2022
  • Built the Austworld Centre and an elite training oval
  • Brought the AFL to Queensland in 2020 and played a major role in securing the 2020 AFL Grand Final for Brisbane.
  • Helped guide us through the interruptions of the 2018 Commonwealth Games with all the rewards that that event brought for the Club
  • Expanded us over to China briefly
  • Established a strengthening partnership with Darwin and the top end
  • AFLW partnership with Mackay including the currently in construction redeveloped GBR Arena
  • Establishment of the Suns Kool Kids Childcare at Carrara and Mackay
  • Brought Mark Evans, Wayne Campbell and most importantly Stuart Dew to the Club.
  • Reaching 20,000 members

Absolutely not at all. Not after reading The Boys' Club.
You lose credibility in my eyes if you believe Michael Warner. He must be the worst journalist. BTW, he also hates Suns. Not sure why.

When Cochrane started, he was perfect antidote to Vic media and some Vic clubs admins who all wanted to abandon Suns experiment and move them to Tasmania. Just constant s***ting on Suns. None of them bothered to even try analysing Suns situation, reasons for struggles. Situation changed a bit from that time.

Suns look in good shape now. Cochrane for sure deserves some credit for that.

What's boys club say about him?

Bob East is a nice bloke, I spoke to him a year ago and sent him some new gold coast jumper designs, he replied saying he can't guarantee anything but will pass it on to the appropriate people, hopefully he remembers now he is the president 😅

That he was responsible for a number of dodgy deals and backroom behaviour he shouldn't have been engaged in.

I have a soft spot for the Suns and think their colour scheme is one of the better ones in the AFL.

Not a fan of Cochrane. I really don't like that Cochrane is so against Tasmania when it's in a better football market than Gold Coast. If Gold Coast can't play finals this year with all the help they've had, it's going to be a long road for them. It's the reality.

Warner has points you can't ignore and I do believe. If you read his book, it's pretty easy to understand why he's not a fan of the Suns.
