Former Gold Coast Suns Coach Guy McKenna in the studio (02.07.24)

Funny yarn about Sam day from 17.19 minutes

I’m delighted and proud to announce that, off the back of all the hard work this season and the incredible support from the Gold Coast, we have officially passed last year’s record membership tally of 23,359.

We will set a new benchmark this season, and with two months to go in our membership window we’re chasing 25,000 members for the first time in club history.

This along with the biggest home ground attendance to date. 23029. Great going for the suns and footy on the coast. People first stadium is fast becoming a fortress.

Gold Coast Suns young gun Mac Andrew (05.07.24)
SEN Breakfast

Gold Coast Suns defender Mac Andrew joined Kane and Kingy to speak about his lift in form this year, how Damien Hardwick challenged him earlier in the year, his involvement in Melbourne's Next Generation Academy, their upcoming game against North Melbourne, and more.

According to Champion Data Anderson is the 7th worst player for inside 50 deliveries. Flanders and Rowell are also within the worst 25.

This is the actual reason we fail as a footy club.

Far too many sock boot sock boot heathens

Wait, you mean some weirdos actually let their sock touch the ground before putting it in their boot / shoe…

WTF

Only two years seems on the light side to me given he’s a local.
I wouldn't be too concerned about that. Most 20 year olds wouldn't go for a long contract, given imagine how good he'll be in 2 years where he could get a longer and more $
Generally after your initial first contract (or 1 1/2 for him) its pretty usual to go this route. So probably smart by his management.

Yeah but I despise the managers. Grubs.

Surely we don’t need to force long contracts on locals anyway. We’re not trying to lock them away forever because we are worried they will leave at first chance.

Also gives player and club more flexibility for each player.

Possibly betting on himself to get even better so he gets a much bigger contract in a few years
