Bone bruising? No way he will be ready in a week. The cartilage and meniscus would likely be damaged. Perhaps someone with greater anatomy knowledge can elaborate but I find the likelihood of him playing Freo highly unlikely

If Lachie keeps up this pace we'll have him back for possibly VFL in Round 19ish with the return Q-Clash looming at home in Round 20

I saw a video of him doing some run throughs and agility testing, starting and stopping on the weekend. I’d say he’s not very far off getting a run possibly even a half in the vfl. Moving quite well

The GC SUNS are confident that key forward Ben King will be available for Saturday’s sold out Round 16 clash against Collingwood at People First Stadium.

King missed the Round 15 defeat against Fremantle with a knee complaint but is eyeing a return this weekend against the Pies.

“We expect Ben to complete full training this week and be available for selection on Saturday,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull told the Qscan Injury Update.

The SUNS will be without Brandon Ellis and Malcolm Rosas Jnr this Saturday with both players set to be sidelined with calf injuries.

“Brandon reported soreness in his calf following Sunday’s game in Perth and he will be unavailable for a few weeks,” Bull continued.

“Malcolm will also be unavailable this weekend but we’re targeting a return for him in Round 17.”

Lachie Weller continues to edge closer to a return in the latter stages of the season.

Ffs Rosas injured again 😩 guy can’t catch a break

Both Witts and Weller 2 weeks.
The Gold Coast SUNS can provide an update on co-captain Jarrod Witts after the ruckman sustained a knock late in the win over Collingwood at People First Stadium.

Scans have revealed Witts has sustained a fractured vertebrae and will be sidelined for this weekend’s match against North Melbourne as he recovers.

“Jarrod received a knee to the back during a marking contest midway through the last quarter against Collingwood,” GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said.

“He went for scans on Monday and the results show a small fracture in his back. He will miss this week’s match and be assessed next week before determining a return to play.”

Can’t imagine that would be super easy for the big fella to return from quickly. Bloody huge effort getting back out during the game. Hopefully a very small fracture. At least Ned is flying at the moment.

Good to see Rowelly ok.

Also, f*ck Darcy Moore.

Co-captain Touk Miller could not play out the game with a wrist issue and will have scans on Monday. The Suns fear Miller has broken his wrist, which would likely sideline him for three or four weeks
Sam Day also battled a plantar fascia issue and limped off late in the third quarter, having battled an identical issue on his other foot leading into the game.

Really unfortunate for Day. He was in good form.

Touk Miller was ruled out of the match against North Melbourne at half-time after a wrist injury during the second quarter.

GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said the skipper would be sidelined for the next four weeks.

“Touk was sent for scans on Monday which have shown he has sustained a small fracture to his wrist,” Bull said.

“We expect Touk to be unavailable in the short term as he allows time for his wrist to heal.”

Fellow skipper Jarrod Witts sustained a fractured vertebrae in Round 16 and is a test to play this weekend.

Sam Day was unable to finish the match against North Melbourne after succumbing to a plantar fascia issue in his foot.

The key forward will miss the next 4-6 weeks as he recovers.

In the VFL, fellow key forward Levi Casboult sustained a hamstring injury which will see him unavailable for 4-6 weeks himself.

Ethan Read also underwent scans on a leg injury which has shown a small fracture, with a timeline for his return to be determined in due course.

In good news, Lachie Weller has continued to train fully with the group and is eyeing off a return to play in Round 19.

Probably career over for casboult

Hard-running forward Ben Ainsworth has unfortunately been ruled out for the remainder of the season after injuring his shoulder in the match against Port Adelaide.

GC SUNS Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said the small forward would consult a specialist later this week to determine the next course of action.

“Ben sustained a knock to his shoulder during the match which was assessed further post-match,” Bull said.

“He has unfortunately suffered a high-grade AC joint injury which means Ben will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.”

Co-captain Jarrod Witts is fighting to prove his fitness for the Round 19 clash against GWS and will be a test to play.

“Jarrod is gradually progressing in his recovery from a fractured vertebrae but remains a week-to-week proposition at this stage,” Bull said.

“Jarrod will be tested later this week and will need to train fully before he can be considered for selection.”

Small forward Jake Rogers sustained a MCL sprain to his knee at training last week and will be sidelined for three weeks as he recovers.

Veteran winger Brandon Ellis remains one week away from a return from his calf injury as the club takes a cautious approach with the 30-year-old.

In positive news, Lachie Weller has been cleared for a return to play from his ACL injury this weekend and will be available for AFL selection.
