The GC SUNS’ forward stocks could be boosted this weekend with Sam Dayand Levi Casboult nearing a return to action.

Day and Casboult have been sidelined with foot and hamstring injuries respectively and both will need to prove their fitness at training this week to be available for selection against the Bombers.

Co-captain Touk Miller remains at least week away from being available for selection and is eyeing a return to action in Round 23, as is young tall Ethan Read.

Geeez, some of these injuries are lingering a bit. Day and Levi concerning in particular

MCL. He'll be ready for pre-season games

Rioli has undergone scans on the injury which confirm the 27-year-old has injured his medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee.

The club will assess whether Rioli requires surgery over the next week, however he is expected to be running post-Christmas and be available for pre-season matches before Opening Round.

Quite a few Richmond fans have been celebrating Rioli getting injured on social media posts.
I knew they would. Probably something like... "karma." I didnt even need to read the replied, I could only imagine.

That word absolutely dominates their replies. It’s a word I never use because it’s basically only ever used by people who enjoy other’s misfortune. Like I’m far from perfect I know but because of its terrible misuse I express myself in other ways.

Which is wild because... it was a trade. They got a fair (some would argue, well more than fair) value back in picks that I'm sure they were frothing over on draft night.

****ing mutants.

Will Graham – hamstring – Return to main training in January

Daniel Rioli – knee – Expected to be fit for pre-season matches

Off-season recruit Rioli had surgery on his MCL in the first week of December and remains in the frame to feature in Gold Coast’s final practice game against Sydney on February 28. Second-year starter Graham has been dealing with a minor hamstring issue during pre-season but is expected to be at full fitness by the time the Suns return in the New Year.
