Founded in Season 4, three Essendon Board members dougthelegend, waspy and StealthBomber would prove pivotal in the formation of a Club in the fledgeling Sweet F.A, providing a team for Bomber fans only. With dougthelegend appointed Captain, the first season was immediately successful, the club finishing on top of the ladder at the end of the home and away year. The success was short-lived as the Finals campaign ended in heartbreak, pipped at the post by the Roys in the Grand Final. Bottoming out the next year to pick up the only wooden spoon in the Club's history with just 3 wins, it was not until Season 7 that the Bombers established themselves as Premiership contenders. Under the new Captaincy of ant555 the Club would secure a historical first premiership.

A name change two seasons removed from their first ultimate success would see the newly branded Baghdad Bombers pick up another Grand Final win under the Season 9 joint leadership of doggiesin08 and loopy_cam . From Season 10 onwards the Bombers would strangely be a serious Premiership contender only every second year. This trend would end in Season 14 with the Bombers third Premiership win, and the next season where the team finished Minor Premiers. Two years out of Finals would entice the leadership into another rebrand, and in Season 18 the newly minted Baghdad Bandits would finish 2nd in another ultimately unsuccessful campaign.
The final 3 years of the Bandits would see another less than satisfying Finals push in Season 20, and a significant end of some of Baghdad's biggest playing careers.

Steered by Club legend beez, the Bandits entered one of the most impactful transitions in the team's history. The new direction would eventuate in a rewire of the entire organisation, beginning with a return to the heritage of the Bombers in Season 22, the idea led by emerging Vice Captain HaroLad . The on field success that was hoped to return with the rebrand did not materialise in a disappointing campaign that saw the team finish 10th, but indicated the direction the Club was heading with veteran stars of the League like beez, Shermy and itsmyshow stepping back for the new core group of players such as KohPhi and dennis crumpet to take control of the Club's future. In Season 23, HaroLad took the reigns from beez and the playing list was rejuvenated by an influx of over 10 rookies, signalling a time of massive change in Baghdad.

The new look Bombers fought through controversy and drama throughout the year to claim the Bomber's fourth Grand Final victory in HaroLad 's first season in charge at the club.

Season 4

BigFooty Bombers enter league with a bang.

Season 4 saw the Bombers join the competition under the guidance of dougthelegend as Captain. In what was to be the beginning of something special, things didn't really start out as planned, the Bombers lost their first 5 games, including their first match in the Sweet F.A ever by a thrilling three points.

After a rough start, the Bombers began to find their rhythm in the second half of the season, going on an 8/9 game winning streak to jump into top four. Captain dougthelegend then spurred his players on after they secured top 2 in the following weeks. Two wins in the final rounds saw the team leapfrog the Blues Brothers due to a penalty the other team accrued, and finish top of the ladder for the Bombers first Minor Premiership, in the very first season of competition.

The Bombers dominated the Mobbenfuhrer Medal, achieving the first 2 places in the count with Stegelator on 20 votes, and dougthelegend on 17. Both players also made the ALL SFA team, along with Mantis at Full Back. dougthelegend finished 2nd (104) in Goal-kicking league-wide and first in Marks (163). Mobbs Medallist Stegelator led the Sweet F.A in handballs (171) and Mantis in Frees For (72).

In a tense finals series, the BigFooty Bombers dispatched of the Wonders, storming home in the last, before facing the 2nd placed Blues Brothers in the next round. The team managed to hold on by an amazing 1 point and book in an appearance on the big day from their first ever attempt.
However with the expectations of the League on their shoulders, the Bombers would falter in the Grand Final to the Roys FFC.

Season 5

Dramatic drop off dims Bombers future

After an enormously promising first year in the competition, the Bigfooty Bombers entered Season 5 optimistic of improving upon last seasons almost-ultimate success. Skipping out on the Pre-Season competition to make sure everyone was fresh for the real deal, and with a new skipper in waspy ready to take last years Grand Finalists all the way, things were not to be as the Bombers team imagined, and that was apparent fairly quickly with the Bombers slumping to a woeful record halfway through the regular season.

In one of the worst turnarounds in Qooty history, the 16 win team of last season mustered a lowly 3 wins in Season 5, and were marooned to the bottom of the ladder by over 20 points by the end of the year. waspy's first season in charge was tough, however the only way forward, was forward, so to speak and with Full Forward Brisbane Lions taking out both the BnF and Goalkicking Award, as well as picking up the highest amount of votes in the Mobbs of any bomber with 13, there was a strong spine to build around and aim to reverse fortunes next year.

Season 6

Bombers turn fortunes around, fall agonisingly short in finals once more.

Determined to put an awful showing in last years campaign behind them, the Bombers began swiftly strengthening their team, Season 5 captain waspy stepped down and Club founder, legend and leading goal kicker dougthelegend reclaimed the Captain's position. With the help of another club legend in ant555 immediately called out on any interested parties looking for a spot on the BigFooty Bombers list.

A small hurdle in a disappointing loss to the Wonders during pre-season, and a growing rivalry between the Bombers and newly inducted into the league East-Side Hawks, thanks to quarrels between leadership groups would be the perfect entry point into the season, and set up the fiery opener to the season against said Hawks.

The Bombers seemed a lot more switched on that last seasons humiliation, dougthelegend was commanding the troops exceptionally well, and a playing group engaged throughout the whole season was no doubt a defining factor in the stark turnaround in form from last year. However, the Bombers started slowly, registering a solitary draw and 2 points from their first 6 games. A rich run in form helped surge the young club up the ladder and back into finals contention, registering 7 wins in a row, including key victories against other contenders the Roys, the Furies and Wonders, between Round 14 and Round 20 to secure a top four finish.

In awards season, ant555 won his medal named after him, whilst for the second season running Brisbane Lions took out the goalkicking award the club with 50 sausage rolls. Bombers midfielder Mantis was the highest featuring player in the Mobbenfuhrer Medal with 12 votes, and finishing equal 5th.

Facing the top placed Wonders in the qualifying final, the Bombers travelled and lost in a scrappy, close match, but still had the double chance to fall back on. Comfortably dealing with the Roys, the BigFooty Bombers were no match for the premiers to be, and Swamprats handled business at a packed Alberton Oval, leaving the Bombers to tweak the playing list over the off season and hope for a stronger performance after being one game away from a Premiership chance.
