Something happened in the middle of the ground, and C7's camera footage wasn't convincing in what happened (which could be a wonderful thing), but did anyone at the ground see what happened.

Incident happened right in front of us on the Souther Stand wing. Swan laid a high sheppard on Kane Johnson, free kick worthy but no umpire saw it.

Channel 7's initial vision is terrible so if no other clear angles exist he will probably not even be cited.

But it was Chris Newman. Or am I misreading something about that.

Also Howat got done when there was "no vision" according to C7 by another camera that caught it so there might be better footage of it, otherwise, yeah, it gets very sketchy.

In the footage that seven showed (which looked like it was shot from the moon) Swan just looked like he ran into him. It didn't look bad at all. There will certainly need to be another angle even to get cited.

I was at the game and saw it as it happened. They were niggling at each other down the wing, and as Newman tried to get past Swan, he blokced his path and bumped him, forcefully, but there was no swinging of the arm. Should be fine, unlike Kane Pettifer who is gone for a week or two.

I don't think the Richmond supporters will mind much about Pettifer. He really isn't in good favour with those guys

Not that I'm complaining but the vision was shocking - impossible to tell what happened (from what I could make out anyway).

C7 don't really seem to care all that much about many aspects of their coverage. I think they've been criticised on this before and much more of David Schwarz and a brick goes through my television! Perhaps, in their efforts to recoup as much as possible of their over-the-odds payment for the rights, Schwarz is actually paying them for the gig(?)

he's fine
From what i could see at the game newman was trying to stop swan from running through and arm got flung just like goodes and newman went down like a sac of spuds after that kane johnson and some othe player jumped on swan and the umpire near it did nothing and just kept umpiring the game the tigers got a goal then. Interesting that swan didnt play much of the game after the incident. Maybe deemed accidental like goodes.
