I've often thought that one thing this forum lacked was the community atmosphere that can be seen on the larger team forums. Now, as a new mod, it's one of my jobs to help build that culture here. The best way to start is, simply, to tell each other who we are. So I thought I'd get the ball rolling. Include as much or as little detail as you like.

My name is - you'll never guess - Charlie. I'm 18, I live in Melbourne (yeah, I guess that's not telling you anything) and I've supported the Swans since '94. My favourite players of all time were Mark Bayes and Paul Kelly. I was at the SCG when Plugger kicked his 1300th goal, and I was at Stadium Australia when PK and Dunks played their last game. They were the standout matches for me. I'm a uni student (first day today) at the University of Melbourne. I study history, politics and economics.

Cheers. :)

Like Charlie my name is Charlie(Well actually it's Aubrey, but there are actual similarities between the mod and me) I live in Melbourne too, I was at Pluggers 1300th and Kel and Dunks' last game.I don't have as good puntuation as Charlie though.

Next.

Well, I'm Robbie and I'm also one of your new mods.

Basically I'm 22, from Melbourne and have side interests in Soccer (Rangers) Baseball (Mariners) and both forms of Rugby (Storm and Brumbies). I'm also the mod of the Rugby boards on here.

Classic matches that I have been at were the Port final in 03 (Great great day) and the game against Fitzroy in 95 when Lockett kicked 16 goals.

Hi,
My names Ben, 19 and am a Tafe student studying Professional Writing & Editing. Have been a swans man all my life.

Two of my favourite games are the draw at Telstra Dome against St Kilda and Plugger's 16 against Fitzroy at Whitten Oval.

My name is Sid and gee its hard to guess everyones names here. Im 21 on the 31st of march and I started slowly getting into the swans in 97 (thankfully missing the 96 final). I am chinese and came here (sydney) when i was 8. Started following league but noticed that AFL is the better game.

I enjoy all sports but mostly AFL and soccer. Havent really been to any special games as i only go to about 4-5 games per season. Im doing my last year at Uni of NSW as a software engineer and I work for a car leasing company, doing IT for them. If anyone wants to save on their vehicles through a novated lease, let me know.

My website is http://members.optusnet.com.au/ziasheng

The main page is just for me and contains links that i find useful, but other pages 'may' be more interesting.

Hi, my name is Ev and I have been following the Swans since '99 when I signed up with my old man.I'm 32. We also saw plugeers 1300th goal, Kelly and Dunk's last game. My favourite players are Willo and Kirk - I was at Kirk's first game (or at least the first time I can remember him) at the SCG against the Kangaroos.

Hard to pick a favourite game I saw live, but St Kilda last year was right up there. I remember we played Carlton about 2 or 3 years ago at the SCG at were getting flogged. There was a d*#khead supporter amongst us who was giving the Swans heaps, really counting his chickens. We came back strong in the last quarter and ended up winning, the look on that guy's face was priceless. A top day, the game did not mean much (not a final) but has just stayed in my memory.

My name is Andrew - mine's a bit more difficult to find out!

I'm 22 and I've been a supporter of the club since taking up the game in 1991. I'm originally from Adelaide and moved to Sydney (via Canberra) in 1988. I remember my first game at the SCG - which was against Hawthorn and us getting flogged (ahh those early years!!!). My most memorable game that I've witnessed was in 94 against the saints. When Plugger (as a saint) went on a rampage and killed us (and Caven). Of course we lost, and all my mates and I burnt an effigy of Lockett in our backyard. THe worst game was the Grand Final, I bought a tape of it a few years ago - but I've never watched it - it's just too painful.

I just recently returned from living in the UK for the past 6 months, travelling around and working. It was an amazing journey and experience and I recommend that everybody does it at least once in their lives. Although being away during the second half of the footy season was unbearable. Listening to streamed audio at 5am half a world away, at times just wasn't enough. I plan to return overseas in the next few years (after witnessing a swans premiership of course!) to work and travel for an extended period.

My name is Skipper, but you can all call me steve. Im not very popular on these boards, mainly because not many get my humour,(maybe because its not funny) but small things amuse small minds. Most think I either racist, homophobic or just generally a redneck. This is far from the truth, as those that know me, know me as a loveable, caring and friendly family man who will do anything to help someone in need.

I am a long time South Melbourne supporter who made the transition to follow Sydney. Although my heart was broken at the time, I have moved on. The irony of it all for me is that I was born in Sydney, so in some ways I dont feel like Im supporting a foreign team.

We will be there this year. Trust me.

My name is ROK but many call me Mr Lobster. I have been on the bandwagon since 1995 when league imploded, I moved from Sydney in to AFL territory and started working for a die hard South Melb/Sydney supporter.

I don't post much here but I think that Skipper Kelly is funny. It is a matter of personal pride that once on RWO I was asked in a PM if I was in fact Skipper Kelly.

Hi, My names Gerard.

I'm 18. I started to go to the footy in '93 as my old man had been a South Melbourne supporter all of his life. The first swans game I attended was Rd 5 1993 against Fitzroy at Princes Park, we got killed. The week after we played North, and got belted again. McAdam and Longmire both kicked 10 I think. It didn't matter, I was sold forever. I haven't missed a swans game in Melbourne since that Fitzroy game. I was there the day the big fella kicked 16 (that was just unbelievable) and at the GF. Made the trip up for both preliminary finals, and went accross to Adelaide for the final against Port. The day we beat Port is probably the best day I've ever had at the footy.

Hi gang,
My name is Julian. I'm 31 years of age and live in Sydney's inner west. I've been a Swans supporter since 1983 (despite having lived in a staunchly rugby union household. Not only do I help make the banner for each Sydney-based match, but I travel the length and breadth of the country to support my team.

My other interests are football (soccer to the uninitiated), basketball, foreign languages.

My name is Robert (prefer Rob) and I am 30. My wife and I have three beautiful children, two of which are also card-carrying members (the youngest is only two weeks). We both go to pretty much all of the home games each year since 2000.

Favourite games of all time include the 96 PF, the 2002 (?) game we kept the Roos to about 32 points (even WITH Carey, whom Dunks obliterated that night), the Port Final (naturally) and then the PF against Bris (even though we lost the night was HUGE).

firstly - congrates Rob on the recent birth of your third child!!!

Hi, Im Victoria (Vic), im nearly 19, live in Sydney and attend Sydney Uni studying Sports and Exercise Science / Nutrition for the next 5 years. I have been a swans fan since 2003 and before then have been a Waratahs/Wallabies supporter from 1997 till 2004 and refuse now to support the sport due to how they treated Matthew Burke! (Burke Deserved Better!)

Joined the Swans bandwagon after being forced to watch the opening match of the 2003 season by my friend. During the match I noticed that the game is a very quick moving game that requires great skill, endurance, speed, intelligence and vision and have been mad about the sport ever since. My favourite player is Adam Schneider.

I am English/Irish (Extremely long story behind this) but prefer to be Irish, embarrased to be English and am attempting to learn Gaelic.

I play hockey for NSW, used to play cricket, swimming, cross country, waterpolo and gymnastics.

Do u support ur Uni in aussie rules? We are pretty big rivals with you in the SFA. We being UNSW.

Well I play Hockey for UTS. hehehe - cause the sydney uni hockey club is pretty poor. But will play for them in uni games.

But...I do support SU in all other sports - especially AFL. So maybe we will have a friendly rivalry going here - bring it on! :) ;)

Yeah Im going to the Tamworth games - representing Sydney Uni Cumberland. The AUG you have to be selected for cause Sydney combines all its campuses - want to go, let you know

I think its time I edited this. Well I'm Kris and I love the swans, always have always will, because it was a family thing. I grew up in the riverina watching both aussies rules and league. I had neighbours who were mad essendon fans and I sort of liked them too but my stepdad and many classmates were keen swans fans. my interest in sports as a whole kinda went downhill when I got my playstation sadly (back in 98). I would watch the odd game but that would be about it. it wasn't until about 2003 that I went to a swans game. In 2005 I finally started watching games in all codes and also got a job in sports promotions (i have since left the job) so I never missed a single swans game that year. I did miss the one point loss to richmond because I was attending an NRL game though.

Nowadays I'm a keen swan and Aussie rules is the game I follow most passionately. it is the only game where my family can all support the same team. I have read up on the whole history of the swans to catch up on what I missed and never saw. In the grand final edition of "inside football" I even wrote to mad swans fan Jim Main thanking him for writing all those books on the swans and footy and for all the folks like him who stuck by the swans regardless of their ladder position and he was touched

as 2007 dawns upon us I'm excited. we have Spida and regardless of what Lethal Leigh has said we still have as gooder chance as ever of making the finals

I do sports promotions for a crust. I basically work with most of the major sports teams from all the major sports i.e league, union etc and YES I WORK for the swannies so I'll be at most of their home games this season. yeah in terms of other sports my union team is the waratahs and my league team is the Broncos but ill generally watch ANY match

You work for cobra right? Cause i did the promotions stuff last year.

Anyway, I'm Jeff, 20 and i've followed the swans since 95 when i lost interest in the rugby league because my Penny Panthers weren't doing crash hot. i've been a member since 2003 and sit in Bay 29 (YOU ROCK) in the brewongle concourse being as loud as i can be, and then some.

I currently work in chippendale for a telecommunications company and have been there for 6 months.

actually the company I work for is Centrix maybe they changed their name or somthing
ahh centrix, Cobra is the head group. Centrix is Dave Owen's company right, based out in surry hills?

I worked for SPA marketing which was in the same building as Centrix. Apparently there's been a huge turnover of staff there, is that correct?
