Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the first day of the exhibition match between akkaps Select XI and cats2rise Select XI.

This week we will preview what the sim looks like and how it works. The sim that we are using is called CricSim, it's been around for about 25 years now. And from memory, was created by a father for his child how was into cricket. Please don't quote me on this story, I could have been fed a wrong story. The pace of the game will mimic that of the the late 90s, so please don't expect BazBall to come out and be knocking the ball around the field from ball one.

The plan is to post the game over the course of the week, going in accordance to three sessions per day at the approximate times of the day that the events occur. Each session will most likely be posted together, in 2 to 3 posts, depending on what happens in that session. This is unlikely to be the method that the SweetCA will be posted, as we attempt to fit full games within a week. Something that is still being trialed.

I will aim to tag people at relevant stages, and point out any boundaries, wickets milestones, or stupidity with bold text, gifs and pics. At the end of each innings, I will post the scorecard for the innings just concluded. And at the end of each session and day, I will aim to post some sort of scorecard summary of the play so far.

As you will see this week, each and every ball will be covered in the posting. Each session of cricket with CricSim will consisted on 30 overs, which will result in 90 overs per day and 450 overs per match. There is no such thing as bad light or forcing the spinners to come on at the end of the day to make up time. The only delays possible in this game is rain, but that is sometime that we hope doesn't happen in this game.

We asked all players to list a playing style (Pure Bat, Pure Bowl, etc), these relate to averages that are input into the sim at the start of every season for the player. These values only change if the format of qricket change. These averages for players bowling and batting are what affect the sim and how well each player is at each discipline. We will go into more of this detail later on as the season ramps up

The toss will come at about 9:30am. Followed by the national anthem.

In the meantime, we will preview the teams.
