Imperalism is a 90s turn-based strategy game that has players aim to rule the world by conquest or by vote. Many of you may have seen popular online videos where the concept has been applied to other video games such as NBA2K or Madden. Now we'll be bringing it to the Sweet FA.
The concept is simple: each turn, a random team is selected, and then an arrow is spun to see which direction that team is attacking. Drawing a straight line in that direction from the team's source point, if the first territory it touches is unoccupied, it takes over that territory. But if it hits the territory of another team, those two sides will play off in a simulated qooty match and the winner will claim the entire territory of the loser. Conquering another player's territory will also give a club more chances to be selected as the attacking team each turn, giving them the opportunity to potentially snowball towards a win. We may tweak the rules for further plays but let's see how it goes the first time around.
The Municipality of Sweet has been divided into 19 suburbs, with 13 occupied by a team and 6 neutral territories. The Hawks and the Swamprats have been moved to their original suburbs of Waverley and Alberton respectively for the purposes of this game.
Which of the 13 Sweet FA clubs can emerge the strongest and stamp their claim as the most dominant team in Sweet? Who will establish the first Sweet Empire through ruthless qoot-ball abilities? Stay tuned to find out.
