#13 Dragons FFC

Down a whopping 9 places, we come to our 13th and final club in the TiFmedia Season 38 Sweet FA Power Rankings, the Dragons. Having plummeted from 3rd overall in S37, the Dragons are another club undergoing significant change led by first season skipper DragoDelph.

#6 Sin City Swamprats

Next cab off the rank in the TiFmedia Sweet FA Power Rankings for Season 38 is the Swampies, who improve four positions on their S37 placing into 6th place on the rankings, co-captains damicky & club legend philreich at the wheel.

The TiFmedia Power Rankings have been a rollercoaster for the Swampies in recent seasons, as they once again find themselves in the top half of the standings after slipping to 10th in S37.

These fluctuations have been off the back of a similar trajectory with their squad in recent times, having waxed and waned in and out of broader relevancy. This time last season the Rats were mourning the loss of club legend Kennedy Parker and the enigmatic Harvey Manfrenjensenden, with only a seemingly discarded Wonder damicky coming back the other way. Club legend and respected clubman jackster83 looked to have a job on his hands martialling the troops, with several stalwarts having dropped in off in preceding seasons.

It's worth noting I also made quite a clever analogy about a flick in the dick that seemed to go over heads like most of my gear. But alas.

While the loss of KP is irreplaceable, it wasn't entirely unaddressed with a couple of elder Swampies in jackster & surprise returnee Ant Bear picking up their volume, along with damicky would go some way to papering over the cracks.

However this off season they took that list turnover up another notch, as they managed quite the coup in prising premiership captain serial_thrilla out of the Dragons in one of the most unlikely moves in recent memory. But they didn't stop there, adding respected veteran MP_ from a Hawks outfit who looked to be shoring up their vets, and another surprising but clever selection in tigs2010 who left a battling Roys outfit to venture to Sin City and join the underground.

Add an excitable rookie into the mix in Raz and one things for sure, these Rats have certainly lifted their output, while the quality has also taken a significant jump in S38 having witnessed this first hand in Round 16. That said, the activity does drop away substantially after the top 5 or so contributors, seeing the Rats ultimately land just outside of the leading pack in Season 38.

On field has been less impressive, as they sit 5-2-8 with just one round to play and looking like realistically only a mathematical chance to play finals in S38. After a promising start saw them jump out to a 3-2 record from their first five matches, they endured a horror 8 week run that saw them win only once to beat the Bears by 12 points in Rd 9, and another two draws(!) with the Wonders and Dees in Rds 10 & 13 respectively, which has put pave to their finals aspirations.

While we sit on the eve of the S38 awards season, looking back to the end of S37 we see individually that it's been quite the lean year. Full forward okeydoke7 just made up the numbers in the Fred, just as he appears to be this season. The club didn't secure a single All-SFA selection last season, staggeringly making it three seasons in a row without a selection for Sin City. Mobbs wise, damicky was the best performed Rat finishing 10th with 13 votes.

While in the beez, co-captain philreich finished in a surprising 6th place, but the club fell away from there, as their next selection was fortmer skipper jackster83 at 39th overall, making it just two Swampies in the top 50. co-captain damicky finishing just outside in 55th overall, but then everybody else from there was just making up the numbers. Expect them to poll better in S38.

So the Rats have cobbled together a rag tag squad strong enough and with enough variety to arrest their slide in TiFmedia Sweet FA Power Rankings and hold in a respectable mid table finish. They look set to potentially contend for a much needed All-SFA selection with veterans jackster83 & GotTheGoodes both featuring in the top 10 for disposals and look to be a team on the rise in S38 and beyond.

Although then again, they did just make DenieD their captain.... so god only knows how that ends up! :straining:

Swamprats in crisis.

We will end up #1 next season (or #2 if you keep putting Warriors at the top from pure bias)
Look at the list. Look at the ladder.

If it was based on the ladder than Furies would be way higher than #12
Correct.

But I tried to keep it simple for you.

Thank you. Very thoughful to be thinking of me during this whole process 🥰
You're welcome sweetpea.

What do you think it's based on? I'm not sure there's terribly many measures Wazzas aren't on top on.

Bias aside, of which I have none of course. I'm a media man.

What do you think it's based on?
Not sure. Clickbait?

We lost our Committee Rep and Captain and will most likely finish last on the ladder.

How are we not the worst team in the league???

I demand answers that are semi-coherent

Your captain was just a puppet puppy anyway.
