It hasn't worked BS.
"Growth from within" doesn't work. We think as a club we are ahead but it was proven we aren't on GF day.
I guess the club are happy to stay the same with shiny new facilities that have a nice fuzzy feel about it every time someone walks in.
It clearly hasn't worked, IMO of course.

Work or not we've done both.
Within: Horse, Macca
External: Pyke (Adelaide), Cox (WCE), Mathews (GC/Dees), Spike (Rams/GWS), Buchanon (GWS) and Cameron (Dogs, Hawks, GWS).
Mathews and Buchanon were players back when but so?
Don't know much about the peripherals or minor positions though the coaches like Davis seem to be more internal.

Mate, take the plunge! Moving interstate could be the best decision you ever made! I've done it 6 times now and it the last time I moved about 2 1/2 years ago its turned out to be the best decision I've ever made both personally and career wise. Take the plunge I say. Well, they cast wide originally as Lehane, who was Conditioning Guru at the Wallabies, Melbourne Rebels & before that Leicester Tigers. He is originally from Eire.

He didn't say we were behind the whole comp. He said the promoting from within has not worked. It only worked in one GF, 2012. It has all been downhill from there. When you get consistently beaten by over 10 goals in GFs there is a problem. Three out of 4 GF since 2014 is consistently beaten by 10 goals or more.

What is the solution to this dilemma? I am sick of hearing; we will go away & review. If the coaches don't know what happened then we need to get some who do. Because every supporter knows what happened. We got smashed in clearances, stoppages, contested ball, rebound 50, turnovers, uncontested possession, in every facet of the game. You lose contested possession you lose GFs.

I identified a concerning problem in attitude earlier in the season. I was incredibly worried about it. Overconfidence. When players would talk about our poor starts they would say;

We always knew we could come back.

The reality is, that if you get a team that does not allow that to happen all the confidence in the world means nothing. Overconfidence leads to players thinking they do not have to put in the effort. Then when they realise they are getting flogged, it is already too late

You hire the best available. If that means promoting from within, then that is the right approach.

The sky isn't falling because we haven't made huge changes and gone berserk on our list and coaching group
