I think the Swans have a very tightly regulated regime when it comes to fitness. There are certain KPI's that must be met before any player can play - no matter his station. It should be noted this regime has kept our side highly competitve for a number of years now.

Playing in the reserves is a crucial part of that. Which is why Bradshaw is being "risked" this week. The fact that Craig Bird, LRT and Bolton are no chance of playing a reserves game was always going to be a major impediment to their chances.

TBH the fact none of them played any football for 2 months or more leading into the finals meant they would only be hail mary chances if we had a slew of injuries anyway.

The Bradshaw saga in the effort in vain to make him available to play again appears to have been a long shot and if he had got back it would have been at limited effectiveness.

The worst thing is we could have done the oppo about two months ago and had him in work earlier.

Reports that Bradshaw's season is over are false. Club officials have confirmed the 31 year old pulled up well from the reserves match on Saturday and will be assessed early in the week. 50/50 chance on fronting the Blues, obviously depending on how he's knee pulled up.

In the Age yesterday he was quoted saying he had pulled up bad and its probably the end of the season. Page 13 yesterday it was in , he says " its a disappointing end to what began as a dream move "

NO CHANGE
Craig Bolton 2-3 weeks

BETTER
Ben McGlynn 1-3 weeks -> 1-2 weeks
LRT 2-3 weeks -> 1 week
Ed Barlow 1-2 weeks -> 1 week
Craig Bird 2-3 weeks -> 1-2 weeks
Shane Mumford 1-2 weeks -> Test

NEW
Hanners, Kennelly, Meredith TEST

The way this list is being managed, i highly doubt we will see LRT play next week. But let's hope.

Can they just write off Craig already? I know he must be desperate to come back but seriously, it ain't gonna happen after he has been out for 4.5 months.

anyone know what the TRUTH is with Bradshaw. Conflicting reports.

Sporting a large ice pack on the injured area, Bradshaw conceded his chances of featuring for the Swans this year were finished.
''It was do or die pretty much today,'' Bradshaw said. ''I just had to test it out. I knew if I didn't get through, that was probably it for the season. I was hoping to get through and maybe get selected in the seniors in the next couple of weeks, but it hasn't turned out that way.''

Yet Roos says he is a possibility for semi and pulled up ok...

Lets someone cut the BS and just tell us what is going on.

Anyone...?

Far out. We have the worst injury list of the teams that are left by a country mile. I count 8 from our best 22, and 3 depth players with 1st grade experience. And thats not including Bradshaw.

Finals Teams - Injury List

Gee - i know you're all well aware, but we've done an amazing job to finish 5th. Our injury list stacked up against the other teams, barring the Dogs, is shocking. Makes it tough for September.

* Just realised Braddy isn't even on that list?
