Sydney v Essendon rivalry

They have, but if not for the Grand Finals the rivalry would be non-existant.

I'm just asking, the rivalry round should be different for us. We do not have a rivalry with the Lions. That is non-existant.

The rivalry with Brisbane is based around the Sydney v Brisbane, NSW v Queensland thing..........not much in it, but Sydney - South never really had a rivalry because they weren't much chop.

Pies v Brisbane was a massive rivalry, based on the old pies v fitzroy.....that was genuine hatred back in the day, GF's, eddie vs. the lions, lynch v wakelins, their is was a genuine dislike, still simmers thanks to the salary cap stuff, and the old fitzroy rivalry

the h&a game at the G last year pies v lions was a massive brutal game, and this season at the gabba meant heaps to the woods

there is a rivalry between the two clubs, that is only heightened when they are both succesful

take away sydney and west coast being success and their is no rivalry, really, no thug acts, no embarassment in finals......almost a respect for the teams but once one team drops off the rivalry will vanish
