How many milliseconds of prior opportunity did he have?

What about the missed push in the back on Hodge? The ridiculous free against Franklin in the midfield for in the back? The ridiculous free for holding the ball after Franklin's unpaid mark? The three craps bounces in a row that went straight to Mumford that weren't recalled?

How many Hawthorn tackles were rewarded? Guerra and Puopolo kept taking down Swans and nothing was rewarded.

The Puopolo one where he was tackled and spun around three times without disposing of the ball? A good 5 to 10 seconds. The fact that the Sydney player came in high well after the initial tackle and non-disposal and was penalised made the initial non-decision even more criminal.

It was one of those games that was basically a flip of the coin in the last quarter. I'm confident we can win next week.

With his arms pinned? Prior opportunity refers to the time BEFORE the tackle was made. You can't penalise somebody who is pinned immediately. Those tackles happen every single minute and that's how ball-ups are created.

Sydney lost the game because they gave up a massive lead in the space of a quarter. The umpires made errors on both sides as they always do.
No absolutely totally and massively wrong. If the umpires did their job and call the ones they miss or not call ones that just aren,t there then Hawthorn win by 4 goals . Franklin was as usual crucified, he got softs called against him and some committed against him just left to pass by. If any of you Sydney people are that blind then it must be your dissapointment at the loss which you RICHLY deserved , on the MCG you say swans, good heavans , the open spaces will find Sydney mangled by Geelong Eagles or Collingwood , let alone Hawthorn. I,ll eat humble pie if I,m wrong, so be it. You also have your problems at the ANZ stadium.
Check your free count the real one not your imagination. I do not usually shoot back in anger but you were given a free ride by the umpires today. A terrible terrible deasease of rule misunderstanding and rule makers like that idiot Bartlett. Think yourself lucky, Swans you weren,t flogged.

Lol. You're right. at least 10 seconds. Maybe 30. Maybe go and check. Watch the replay...

Paul Roos was an absolute disgrace in the commentary box tonight.

I've treated a couple of our wins this year as losses because we didn't deserve to win, and I'm treating this as a win because we deserved to win. And If we face them in September I'll go into it confident.

you should just quit while you are behind, some of the crap you are spitting out is dead set embarrassing.. ....

Misplaced confidence unless you get to play us again at the SCG.

Free kick count 17-5 Sydney's way part way into third quarter. At the larger MCG, with no home town umpiring advantage, and hopefully Cyril back in the mix, the smart money will be on you getting smashed.

Not aimed at you butler .

So you would say Kennedy's footskills are better than Mitchell?

Kennedy is a very good clearance player that butchers the football. Sam is slightly inferior in the clearances but uses the ball wonderfully.

Kennedy would never get a regular game at Hawthorn due to his woeful foot skills, hence was allowed to leave.

I like Josh but he is daylight behind Mitchell as an overall package.

Well done Hawthorn. Seemed to beat Sydney and the umps/AFL today. Obviously cost of living salary cap concessions are not enough 'equalisation' for Sydney....... give 'em some umpire equalisation too.

We won the premiership in 05 and we were 1st in frees against, so don't spew bullshit bout the Swans being a "love child". If you actually watched you'd see Sydney took great care not to inflict free kicks for high and in the back throughout the game.

Anyway pretty shattered. Umpire put the whistle away in the 4th but to the detriment of the Swans. I swear we pinned them HTB like 3x in the last 10 mins but the umpires were too scared to call it. Same with thr non-50. He just didn't have the guys to call it. Hawthorn played really well though. They matched the Swans in clearances which is our biggest strength and made our normally factory-like backline look bad at times.

I must say though that Puopolo and Lewis are underrated as duckers and divers. Every team has 1 or 2 but gee boy..

3rd time unlucky for the hapless Swans, they gave up a huge lead against Essendon and Geelong and fell over the line, they did it agin today and lost. The writing is on the wall for the Swans, 2 losses now at home to Collingwood and Hawthorn, they are toast.

LOL at Swans supporters complaining about the umpiring.

They weren't complaining when they got an armchair ride against us a few weeks ago and were telling Saints supporters to suck it up.

What goes around comes around.

Hawthorn are a better team than Sydney and deserved to win. Suck it up Swans supporters and stop whinging.

What a load of shit. Go start a poll an see who neutrals rate. Kennedy will make AA this year, Mitchell won't.
