But Tef.... we like Lance!

Can't we save it for the flogs that frequent the bay?

That reminds me - I haven't been on the bay yet!

It's like Christmas!!!!!!!!

Seriously though. I don't want the club suspended for 2 years. I enjoy beating them too much.

Exactly my thought, I hope it is just the players and we can watch Goddard lead the rookies and new draftees with bendigo bombers against the mighty nmfc for next two years! Hehe.

No sympathy for the club whatsoever. Some fans may get one second from me but that is it! Am laughing and the scum get their karma!

speaking of which, do you think Vlad will be changing employment direction shortly?? I mean its been a torrid 24 mths for the man.

Not at all.

How is this his fault?

If anything, it's an opportunity to clamp down on footy dept spending that allows for this conduct.

I just think early on it was a dream job, but now with almost 100% transparency due to social media, mud sticks. Im not saying its his fault but when looking at ones resum'e at Vlads level. Recents events in the AFL tarnish his CV.

Ok, couldn't find another relevant thread but considering I'm clearly out of the AFL rumors loop and there has been talk of other clubs being implemented in "supplement" use...

Are we in any danger of trouble?

I wouldn't think so, because the drug being thrown around is not safe for human consumption at all. You ask, Essendon did, why can't North?
Well surely our main doctor (Scott Saunders?) is also a specialist practitioner, so considering he didn't/couldn't get time off his practitioner work for the concussion investigation (which was a complete farce that the AFL expected him too - he's not a ****ing puppet to be used at will), I highly doubt he would risk his professional career to give unsafe drugs to his players.

Irrationally panicking, yes. But still, can't hurt to ask those who are "in the know" if we could possibly be implemented at all.

Also in the spirit of the thread - poor Essendon, really hope they don't have any long term harm

;)

Best one so far...."taken off-site to injecting rooms....links to organised crime"

They are so screwed!!!

Surely not..

In all honesty, if this was forced on kids by sport science staff and officials, then they've been ****ed over. Massively. What 19 y.o kid is going to say "no this is wrong"..and now careers and reputations could be ****ed.
(This is of course assuming the worse case scenario is true)

yeah I know what you mean
I was born and raised in Essendon so hate the team with a passion
but I find it hard to think they were the only ones doing this... what if it comes out that we were up to our eyeballs in it too

Hopefully not
but I might reserve scorn a little bit for now

And what of the role of Hird and his assistant coach Mark Thompson? They had to be aware that players were being asked to sign waivers - did it ever happen to them in their long and proud careers? Most unlikely. Yet no questions asked of the Bombers' sport science boffins.

Thompson, a premiership coach at Geelong, who sidled his way to Essendon telling the Cats some porkies along the way, must have been noticing such unusual and irregular practices. Yet he says nothing?

That Hird was not proactive in discovering exactly what was being administered to his players, does that mean his role is actually subservient to his assistant? Hirdy the second banana?

What did Evans and his board know? Nothing? Then why not? Why did Robson not inform them? Robson didn't know? Then why not. Why did all Thompson's experience come to nothing?

What about the sport science staff themselves? To whom were they directly responsible? Does anyone at Essendon know? Who is Stephen Dank? What was his track record like before he lobbed at Essendon? Did the other bloke, the Weapon, go off half-cocked?

If the findings are grim then Essendon will lose players, maybe a Brownlow Medal, and it must lose its coaching staff and its chief executive. At yesterday's conference, Evans said: "The integrity of the club is critical for the people sitting at the table."

Integrity? What integrity? That hit the ejector button over Wangaratta.
