Well done to Matt Bate from Eastern Ranges. Would have shaken up a few people. He wasnt one of the ones mentioned very often but came through with the goods winning by 3 pts. Well deserved Matt.
 
Just going on details from TAC record:

24/05/87 189cm 85kg

Which would mean he would need special exemption to nominate for this years draft. Someone who knows him may be able to tell us if is going to nominate and if he has grown, or is likely to grow, a few cms and reach AFL KPP size.

Definately not doing his draft chances any harm!

Worthy winner. PLayed well bith in defence and up forward this year. I reckon he has put on a few more cm. My understanding was that he was not going to appeal. May change his mind now.

Also I thought the coaches award to Adam Pattison was deserving as well.

In the Morish I belive Wood (Murray) and Faveolecki (Bendigo) were 2 and 3. Sherringham (GF) and J Moore (DS) were also in the mix.
Can't give you the exact placings.

Matt has been trying to get an exemtion into this years draft but it has been disallowed because he missed the cut off date which he didnt know about, although there is work going on to make him eligible for this years draft.

Yes, I heard this from someone else as well - sloppy work on behalf of Eastern if they didn't inform he could apply for an exemption.

Would be a pretty early pick if he does get an exemption.

So what's all this mean. It was nice to see Matt Bate & Adam Pattison take out the honours instead of a Calder guy. They seem to be favoured everywhere else.
