Not sure the F1 was ever on the table but there has been talk we did try and trade up with some of the other picks.

Nice to have a modern (2020's) list manager that fully comprehends the nuances of the current draft rules, pick trading etc.

I feel like him going through the process himself in 2004 helps with this.

No doubt he has a firsthand personal connection to how it all works

Does this bloke have the balls to make some really hard decisions his predecessor couldn't handle making?

This would be one of the most crucial off seasons this club has had in 30 years imho. With impending Tassie coming in, get this wrong and it'll be another decade before we sort our shit out

What would be the hard decisions then?

Trade Parish?
Trade Tsatas?
retire Shiel by middle of the year?
Trade McGrath?
That's off the top of my head
Perkins, Cox, Menzie, Gresham, Laverde would all have to be candidates. Probably only Perkins and Gresh have any value though. I'd be willing to keep playing Tsatas for another year.
Amazingly, Goldstein is still on the list.

Does he have a long enough leash that he is allowed to move on all of our potatoes?
He had enough clout to step up and say either Dodoro is removed from the club or I will walk. Dodoro went. He has the backing of the CEO.

this is my thinking of the current crop in management.

Scot may not be the long term coach but if can make change then so be it. Rosa has already started and that is a tick in my book

The first one to oppose Dodo and not be cancelled, reflective of the power shift at the club. Big move by Rosa considering it may have been his only opportunity in AFL footy admin. Saying that with Adrian staying the club continues to suck and everyone involved in list management gets a bad reputation that will impact their ability to find a similar job elsewhere.

Wouldn't surprise me if the industry knew about these sorts of things anyway, there's been a revolving door of quite good operators who the club has chewed up and spat out.
