I am definitely moving up the scale of loathing with respect to Pooper-Scooper McClure...

His hard-hitting journalism* this week included asking Brendon Gale about the effect of Dustin Martin's off-field issues on his football.

Best moment:
McClure: I don't want to bring up the whole Dusty-chinese restaurant thing...
Gale: But you will.
(Carey, Darcy and Watson laugh)
McClure (very awkwardly): ahhhh... , blah blah blah, inane question, blah.

By the end, Gale looked to have zero time or respect for the Pooper-Scooper.

*that ain't journalist, ya campaigner

Tim Watson cutting crook because the AFL want the footy public to make a decision on the shot clock. He asks why the AFL don't do what they are paid for and make the decision. Timmy, old boy, these are the same people who won't make a decision to take the Brownlow away from your drug cheating son. What do you want from them?

Luke Darcy was the worst this week with his strawman attack on David Schwarz for criticizing BT's calling. Schwarz was criticizing BT for overrating Jake Stringer but Darcy deliberately misconstrued this to mean that David wanted any nicknames or exuberance banned from footy. He then topped it off by telling Ox that he was 'better than that' in a patronizing manner. Darcy has some history now of defending Channel 7 on air with long-winded disingenuous rants. This was another example.

Mark Stevens, that's right! He is a self-important tosser.
Scoop (boom, indeed) seems to following the same path.

They should use a journo who brings insights, not rumour and headlines.
Then again, they are basically just cross-promoting their sports-newsdesk, aren't they?

Mark Stevens is a flog.

Scoop Dog is heading down the same path.

Duck says that Majak Daw does more than Naitanui around the ground. It's anyone's guess as to what point he is trying to make. Daw had 4 hitouts in his game on the weekend, while Naitanui averages 34, so you would probably expect or demand that Daw does more around the ground, since he does next to nothing in the ruck.

Also, he's wrong anyway, Naitanui averages more disposals this year than Majak, and that's even with a much larger sample size.

Majak is hardly in their side. He had one alright game.

Carey is such a blowhard, how The Age legitimises him by giving him a column is beyond me.

Not Duck's greatest call, but no less educated than when Matthews claimed North don't play well at the MCG, despite North getting to a couple of prelims in the last 2 years and thus winning big games like finals at the G.

He's racking up the silly calls now. Jeremy Cameron is going to be the best Chf of all time because he had more goals after a certain amount of games. Sam Mitchell wouldnt get a game in any other side. Hawthorn were cheating the concussion sub in order to get Billy hartung on the field. His hypocrisy' in defending Hogan to the hilt but criticising other players. Calling Lloyd Autumn Leaves and betraying confidence on air.

Not sure if any footy journo takes themselves more seriously than McClure. First time watching this show this year and he gives Darcy a genuine challenger in biggest ****** on the show.

McClure .... is that the guy who sits in the middle and just passes comment on what he "thinks", not about anything he knows? I don't watch the show often but I saw it last night (for half an hour) and that guy really annoyed the hell out of me. As someone else posted, how about some media people doing some homework and coming up with real stories, not sit around just making things up? Who is this guy anyway?

I think they're all like that these days, with their minor roles on radio and/or tv shows.

correct. journos were best when they were read and sometimes heard, but not seen.

they are bestowed monkiers like newsbreaker, scoop etc.
