Alright guys here it is. I have been facinated with the start to the 2008 AFL season. Many good games to start Round 1, Adelaide and the Bulldogs was a classic, and the Saints and Swans was a tight finish aswell. And then there have been some blow outs, Essendon and Hawthorn having big wins.
So i am going to make the Mega Story. Every match, of Every Round will come your way. Match stats, pictures, and summary of the match will be in every update.

Season 2008 is beyond us

Geelong Thump Power in Grand Final

A 44-year premiership drought has been broken with the Geelong Football Club securing the 2007 AFL Premiership Cup. It came with a record-breaking 119-point win over Port Adelaide at the MCG, the highest ever margin in grand final history.

"The people have waited so long. It's amazing to see the look in their eyes," said an emotional coach Mark Thompson shortly after the siren had sounded.

The win capped off a remarkably dominant year for the club. Some of their other honours for the year included a VFL premiership, Rising Star winner Joel Selwood, an amazing nine players in the All-Australian side and of course Jimmy Bartel's Brownlow Medal.

"I loved the Brownlow, but all I wanted was a premiership medallion," said Bartel after the match.

Victoria united behind the Cats. For the past seven years the Premiership had gone to interstate sides. It was time to bring the cup home, where it belonged.

The victory means so much to Geelong - both the football club and the town. Together, they've been through some heartbreaking times in the past 44 years, but now they will party.

Past legends were on hand to help celebrate including Gary Ablett Sr., Barry Stoneham and a teary eyed Billy Brownless.

For Port Adelaide however, it's a totally different story. Although their prospects have been good, a crushing defeat like this can often send a team into disrepute. We can only wait to see what happens in season 2008.
