Martin Pike did a great job at pulling his head in after being an absolute peanut at Melbourne. Can't think of too many others in AFL history, I'm sure there are, but they would be vastly outnumbered by those that continued to be dickheads when the scenery changed. Fev was going to change his ways at Brisbane, Harley Bennell was apparently a changed man when he came to Melbourne. Bad eggs don't often change.

Pike was also a drunken campaigner at North and got the arse over it for belting Pagan/Pagan's son depending on the story and then turning up straight from the Casino to a family day. Before anyone says he is biding his time for the Tassie side, he's a New South Welshman whose family moved south for a job when he was 12. He was more or less full time in Melbourne on Academy shit by the time he was 17. Thats 5 years tops. He ain't a tassie lad and won't be going back. Yeah I liked the thought of TT in yellow and black a year or so ago but his last few months off the field have shown his character. Hasn’t been great on field either. Hard pass.

From our lot Stringer was heading for disaster and seems to have his life in order now, but usually a dickhead at one club is a dickhead at another. Plenty have been total disasters - Fev, Lovett etc.

Probably not many, and maybe if things settle down at North he might be smacked into shape. But it seems like he has not come good under any of a few regimes now, a total change of scenery might be his only chance. Assuming the legal system lets him play at all in the near term.
