Jack Prestwidge a chance? Took 24 wickets at 10 in his handful of matches in Vic premier cricket last season. Bowls near to 150 and hit a massive ball. Imo he is better than a lot of guys in the shield right now. Surely he is on the radar?

Any chance of Tasmania actually developing its own talent? Particularly in the batting department? Or have the powers that be down there given up on all that?

To the best of my knowledge, the last decent batsman we produced retired not that long ago. The nearest we have come is Poor Man's Sobers Beau Webster, but I still don't think he has hit the 30 mark with his f-c batting average.

Still no contracts list... or even any reporting/speculation of ins/outs lol...

Yes Beau had one or two very good Sheffield Shield season's a few seasons back but has gone down hill since then.

Maneti will not get a contract from Tassie. Will be playing club cricket in Hobart. Why would Tassie sign a 28yo T20 spinner when they already have a young kid and Andrews contracted?
Yes he has been signed up and is very happy to be given the opportunity.

We're talking a full time cricket Tasmania contract to play Sheffield Shield and ODIs (not hurricanes)?

That would be a startling waste of a contract spot, especially since Andrews is easily the incumbent in ODI form and we are likely to continue playing Jarrod Freeman in the shield.

I can see its announced he has signed to play club cricket. It is unusual for a club cricket team to announce a signing before the formal contract announcement... Screen Shot 2021-06-13 at 14.20.25.png

He's only 24 but yeah not really an inspiring signing. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tassie sign Brad Hope from WA as I remember reading he'd taken up an offer elsewhere.

Still waiting on the Maneti signing news...

Great for Tas cricket if he is playing club cricket. We need guys pushing for spots and training with the main squad...
Sorry I must of got it wrong some how but definitely said he was Tasmania bound so it must be for club cricket after all.

Manenti and AJ Mosca who was Syd Grade Cricket leading run scorer have both signed for New Town not Tassie. Backing themselves in to get an opportunity if they perform well. Good on them, really a free kick for Tas and improves the Grade system.
Tas have also signed an 18yo from NSW who bowls spin with both arms
" Radhakrishnan also joins the Tigers on a rookie contract, from Sydney. The 18-year-old is not only an allrounder, but he also bowls finger spin – with both arms. Radhakrishnan – the only known ambidextrous cricketer coming through the Australian pathway– has been a part of underage squads and teams both at a state but also a national level since Under 13s, and certainly has the talent to become a star not just for Tasmanian cricket, but on the international stage as well. "
