That all seems fair and reasonable. I think Sydney were concerned about Parker's longevity last year. I think Adams saw himself as a potential replacement but Parker hit good form when he came back from his suspension

Glad we didnt run with him in the GF, type of player that wouldve cost us a flag. Through injury or bad decision making

He cant not back himself in to be better in 2024 , then be dismayed about not having his position. He knew he was on the decline

On top of , he says Fly was just blowing wind up his ass, but then wanted Fly to have the hard conversation. Doesnt make sense. You dont like what the coach says, you approach them. Dont complain about it in the media months later

Fly seems the most upfront coach there is from an outsiders perspective. He didnt get us the flag by telling players one thing and then doing another

""And I sort of got played out of position where I wasn't playing that well"

Well first, he is still playing that position
And when he played half forward with us, I thought it was known he was actually playing quite well. Its what made him play the most he had in years in a season.
He's prob playing worse at HF with the swans than in his time at the pies.
Agree, he wasn't & wouldn't have been dropped by us like he has been with the Swans.

I hope he gets back in the side and they win the whole thing.

Sick of the Cats, don’t want to see Zorko win it, don’t think Port could win on GF if they made it through.

The tragedy is if he stayed he would have played at least half the year in the midfield for Mitchell and may realistically be preparing for a final at the Pies again this year.
Taylor would have been very handy through this season.

He was actually the type of player we missed.

Coaches assumed that Mitchell would be fit and Finn Macrae would otherwise take that place. Correct decision. Bad result.

Course I remember half the posters on here saying how glad they were that he was gone and how he was worthless, so you know, bravo to them :).

We tend to just look at the latest year and ignore who was or wasn't injured.

2023 we had few midfield injuries - and thus he was surplus to needs as a mid.
2024 we lost Mitchell and JDG for most of the year and really needed him.

At the moment many of us view us as having a short term midfield need because it was an issue this year - ignoring that JDG and Mitchell should be back, Sidey moved there late in the year and slayed it and Allan was really promising. Adding guys like Peatling and Davies might be a longer term need - but we probably don't need them for next year and they probably wouldn't crack a midfield spot if we did get them.

Club still signed off on it. He was a contracted player.
Not much point hanging onto a player who doesn't want to play the role you have given him. And who has secured a longer deal elsewhere.

The point being & in response to the post I replied to, it wasn't a move instigated by the club. It was his.

Turns out, he was just depth when the swans had their best players available.
also.
Robbie Fox is ahead of Tay.

That was always the case. Surely Taylor wasn't that naive/dumb?

Anyway, he's got his longer contract & money for the next 2 years & his manager has got his fee.
I mentioned it a couple of days ago. Tay would have known his limitations and to get 3 years was a no brainer. Good on him
