The sling tackle that i saw on the weekend in another game was the worst of all of them.. but gets nothing? he could have seriously injured that bloke with the way he tackled .. could have been damaged shoulder neck ribs anything

If we appeal, what's the damage? 2 weeks?
Nah, maximum points is 195 so even if we lost the appeal he'd still only get a week.

We should appeal, if not just to inconvenience Selwood and force him to come to Melbourne tomorrow night for a hearing.

Exactly, the 2 points for head high contact is just wrong.

Not sure what reducing it to a body hit does to points though, would he get a reprimand?
I'm pretty sure body contact is 1 point so that would reduce it to a reprimand I think. However you hardly ever see it applied for cases other than striking, usually you get off completely.

Yeah but it wasn't a Pies player implementing the tackle stevo, seriously if you look at the cr@p our rucks and Cloke have to put up with week after week from the white maggots you simply can't have any faith at all in umpiring.

Getting the impact downgraded from from high to body won't change the outcome.

The only basis to challenge is to argue that it wasn't worthy of report. In comparison to Steven May's hit on Zorko I see no difference. If anything the force involved in May's hit was heavier than Adams.

I'd challenge and argue that the ball was within 5 metres and that the hit should have resulted in a free kick down field rather than a report. I'd be confident of beating the charge.

Adams actually pulled up and put his hands up rather than run through him. Jack Reiwoldt sticks his leg out purposely to trip and gets off. = AFL worried a Richmond 1-3 start is worse than a Pies 1-3 start because the termites might start to retreat again.

I have no problem with Selwood falling down - he would've been caught unawares, and could easily have got knocked over. As for head contact, there's not even evidence of that. Adams also couldn't really do anything. That is a joke that they gave him head contact on that footage
Yeah riiiight he gets caught unawares 2 or 3 times every game . . riiiight

He was STAGING as he always does and he got rewarded as he always does.

How ideal for the AFL to suspend Adams and then let Thomas and Riewoldt off. ohh thats right Pies playing shitmond this week....of course!!
Enoughs enough!! we deal with these white Maggots every week (3 years running we have the worst differential in frees for and against!! And the ones we do get are 99% backward of centre!!..Coincidence????)....the media cant wait to bag us.... the Fixture (what a joke!!!) Bloody Injuries every week....for the last 3 years!!.... Young gun ready to break out, facing court, but Heath Scotland gets a slap on the wrist.... And poor Clokey gets molested week in week out and ONLY gets frees when the match has been decided or we play a shit club so these Maggots can justify their bullshit!! Every Non Pie follower can go and Get ****ed!

Side by Side We WILL Stick Together..... GO THE MIGHTY PIES!!!

Rant Over

Fair dinkum joke the AFL, how soft is that stager Duckwood, what an absolute embarrassment and he even has the nerve to pump himself up and say he is the toughest player in the AFL!

No argument there, but show me any physical evidence of selwood copping it to the head. There isn't any. It's all based on Selwood lying on the ground for a minute. Video doesn't show anything conclusive at all. You can't convict someone on circumstantial evidence in a court of law so don't see why they can at an AFL tribunal. As far as I know a purposeful trip is a suspendable offence is it not?

Since when has common sense got anything to do with the Tribunal??????? :(

Disappointing but no other outcome was ever going to eventuate given who was on the receiving end ...... seeing the footage, Adams didn't leave the ground and it was a legitimate bump with, at worst a high forearm to the neck. Worthy of a free kick but by no means reportable let alone suspension.

Contrast that with a genuine sling tackle, player driven face first into the ground and only a reprimand. Go figure, MRP consistency at its finest

Just confirms for me that the tough bodied Cats of 07-11 have fallen away to powder pussies chasing Oscars instead of flags. The Selwood of those times would have jumped straight back up from an obvious 1on1 caused by his own momentum.
Shame MRP for bringing our great game down to AusKick standards.

Yep, The Cats are going Backwards.
They where lucky we where not in better Touch

Except there was no bump to the head. Merrett cops two weeks for a intended swing to the head of Swallow and Adams cops one week for standing his ground. OK...this system is so just! :drunk:
