Well, technically slightly over half way but it's BBL break time. Remember, largely based on stats as I haven't been able to watch many for long periods of time.

1. Henry Hunt (SA, 6 matches, 537 runs, average 44.75, 3x 100, 1x 50). What a return to form for Hunt, he has put his name up in lights to be considered for the Sri Lankan tour, with three big tons so far this season. His conversion rate of fifties to hundreds is excellent in his career as well and looks like he's entering his prime at 27/28 now too.
2. Sam Konstas (NSW, 5 matches, 471 runs, ave 58.87, 2x 100, 1x 50). Was really hard to pick between these two and Harris, all three easily could have gotten a gig. The teenage sensation looks primed for a long career at international level, he just looks classy whenever he walks out there, expect big things from the lad.
3. Kurtis Patterson (NSW, 4 matches, 527 runs, ave 105.4, 1x 100, 4x 50). I mean. Come on. Five scores over 50 in six innings, third in runs despite two fewer games than the top 2? Kurtis Patterson is back. He had a rough couple of years but he just looks more confident and assured at the crease again.
4. Hilton Cartwright (WA, 6 matches, 530 runs, ave 53, 1x 100, 2x 50; 35 overs, 4 wickets, ave 35.25, econ 4.05, SR 52.5). Hilton has become a very consistent and reliable FC cricketer with bat in hand and a handy change option with the ball. Will he ever get back to test level? Who knows but I think he'll be good if he does.
5. Peter Handscomb (Vic, 6 matches, 478 runs, ave 47.8, 1x 100, 4x 50, c). He's had a very good 2024, currently 5th for FC runs in 2024 and more scores over 50 than anyone else. His conversion rate is an issue but he's probably booked his spot for the tour of Sri Lanka at this point in time and probably into the side for that tour,
6. Beau Webster (Tas, 4 matches, 303 runs, ave 50.5, 1x 100, 1x 50; 96.5 overs, 9 wickets, ave 37.88, econ 3.52, SR 64.55). Beau hasn't reached the lofty Heights of last season but his average and his balance means I feel he makes this side right now. He would be primarily bowling offices in this side due to selection.
7. Alex Carey (SA, 3 matches, 452 runs, ave 90.4, 2x 100, 1x 50, +). He's had a remarkable season, to book his spot with only three games is ridiculous. His ability to counter attack and put the pressure on the opposition was very valuable early in the season for SA, whether he was batting at five or six.
8. Jack Edwards (NSW, 5 matches, 215 runs, ave 35.83, 0x 100, 1x 50; 155.2 overs, 20 wickets, ave 21.6, econ 2.78, SR 46.6, 2x 5 for, 1x 10 for). Probably not quite good enough for a top 7 spot but definitely one of the best bowlers this season, Edwards seems to have kicked on this season to hopefully become the all rounder that we all hoped he'd be.
9. Fergus O'Neill (Vic, 5 matches, 173.1 overs, 22 wickets, ave 19.31, econ 2.45, SR 47.22, 1x 5 for, 0x 10 for). Ferg is just plugging along, doing his thing. He's averaging 23 with the bat as well, and has been vital for Victoria since his debut. Fifteen of his 22 wickets have come at the MCG which is insane.
10. Nathan McAndrew (SA, 4 matches, 153 overs, 20 wickets, ave 23.65, econ 3.09, SR 45.9, 1x 5 for, 0x 10 for). McAndrew has been superb since moving from NSW to SA, his ability to just make the batsman play is remarkable. Reminds me a lot of John Hastings in the way he goes about it with both by and ball.
11. Jackson Bird (NSW, 4 matches, 128.3 overs, 22 wickets, ave 14.86, econ 2.54, SR 35.04). How is he still doing this? He just has so much consistency game on game, year on year. I mean, come on, an average of under 15 is bonkers. He's currently 5th in wickets for Shiels history, and I can see him overtaking 4th very soon.
