Is it really that hard? Why do we find a way to stuff it up? All season its been terrible decisions before the game.

If we are playing balta up forward, why did we bring in Soldo in? We dont need 2 rucks plus balta. Also if nanks injured, how about dont select him? Hes a liability up forward and slower than the titanic. Horrendous decisions.

Play Balta down back. One of miller or tarrant have to go. Make the call. His run, speed and carry is better than those two who are the same type. Play out of position and we keep trying it.

Also, why did it tale so long to play cumberland over aarts/castanga?

I looking forward to next season. New president maybe no Benny gets the big job, No DH and his mate's players retiring moving on. Arnotts finally got the better of Balmey and is retiring. Yes, a new look Richmond back to the days of 1983 to 2016 where at least I won't GAFF not like now watching us going down to crap like Norf, Coast, Adelaide and not getting any sleep.

Agree.

There are too many talls in the side as a mish-mash.

We have too many tall defenders and pure Rucks in the best 22 and stuff all key forwards.

Grimes, Miller, Tarrant as key backs, plus Broad, and Gibcus to come back in. That's 5. then theres Balta thats 6 depending on your view of his best position. Nank somewhere, Jack stinking it up.

We have no key forward at the club at the moment who is fit can at least be competative.

Jack is done, Lynch is injured, other players not ready.

It's a list Management failure of monstrous proportions. Just like our lack of inside mids. We drafted too many defenders, not enough inside mids and not enough key forwards.

We are too slow and not balanced.

We need more hbf

Tarrant has probably been our best player over the last 5 weeks and you suggest he should be one of the ones to make way for balta down back?

Jack should have kicked 5 last week, probably 3 last night. He does need lynch beside him though, think he has one more year left in him. Nank is obviously injured and shouldn’t be playing, once lynch is back, put balta into defence and drop miller. Rather see gibcus play up fwd than balta who has no game awareness.

Tarrant has performed really admirably in 2022, and if the rest of the team had done their job, we'd be playing finals and pushing for a flag this year. But we haven't, so we need to pivot the plan. Tarrant isn't in our next flag team now, and we have ready made replacements. IMO then in 2022, it's better for us to have Tarrant in the VFL, and go for our KPDs as Grimes, Miller, Balta, Gibcus. That's the best mix next year for our future.

If you’re doing that why bother playing Jack, Cotch, grimes, edwards, Dusty, broad, Prestia and every other player over 30? None of them would be in our next premiership team. Again he’s been our best player, you don’t drop him because of his age. Plenty of others go before he does. Grimes for one has been bog ordinary the last 5 weeks.

I'm talking 2023. We will absolutely need to make calls on some of them. You don't move them all at once as some still have a few years left.

2017 - premiers
2018 - minor premiers
2019 - premiers
2020 - premiers

I hope we have another list management failure of monstorous proportions later this decade.

The party was awesome. The hangover was worth it.

Enjoy watching reruns because the failure to simply balance the list with players available in all positions means you'll be on the panadols indefinitely until it's fixed.

Would you prefer to have had Geelong's last 10 years? Their list management strategy resulted in 9 finals series and zero premierships. Over the same period we played in 7 finals series and won 3 premierships.

I'd prefer to have players to select in positions they are suited to, for basic list profile balance, but we haven't recruited any young genuine inside mids or key forward options that have come through despite 21 selections in the National draft since 2017.

This is despite a totality of picks 9, 17, 17, 20, 20, 21 25, 28, 29, 30, 30, 34, 40, 43, 43, 44, 46, 51, 53, 62, 63 and 64 in half a decade.

I hear you. I'm also a bit bummed. I thought RCD would be our centreman by now. Jack Graham hasn't improved. Ross is what you would expect for a player drafted at #43. Dow is not going to replace Cotchin. I had expected Tom Lynch (free agent) to play and dominate more games. I had high hopes for CCJ and Chol, but neither look capable of being the #1 key forward.

Don't overlook how much we got bent over by COVID. Those boys missed out on two years of development. I'm not saying it will fix itself, but at the end of 2019 we were in great shape with our list.

It’s not like the old days where a ruck would just go for a spell down forward. With high rotations I guess with such inside 50 dominance we wanted to always have 2 tall’s down forward no matter who was rucking.

If Nank or Soldo were having a spell on the bench we were always guaranteed marking power up forward & not being so predictable always bombing to Jack if we went with the 1 ruck &!whilst he was on the bench & Noah in the ruck

Cause we pretty much have the makings of a very stong defense with our current defenders on the list. You can't say that about the midfield or forward line.

Who do you propose we should play instead of Jack in the forward line based on availability, VFL form and development?

We've seen enough from Miller and Gibcus this season that suggests they are good enough to play at AFL level this season, let alone next season, We all agree that Balta is better as a KPD, while Broad, Vlasutin and Rioli are still young enough to play apart in at least 1 more flag if we get other areas of the list right.

Grimes unfortunately only has at most 2 seasons left, consdering he's already had thoughts of retiring in the past, and Tarrant was only signed on for 2 seasons. We're equally likely seeing Miller take Tarrant's position in the team next season onwards.

Next season is next season, to drop Tarrant now who has been our best player the last 5 weeks would make no sense at all.

Who's saying we should drop Tarrant?

Someone mentioned that the choice needs to be made between Tarrant and Miller for this season, but no one has come out and said Tarrant needs to be dropped this week
