You can still add side panels.

If you're using someone else's template, don't be afraid to play around with it a bit.

If you want a jumper with side panels, get rid of Dylan's side seam and make some. If you want to give the design something a bit special, make your own collar, or stitching so it's your own cut.

Doing well in competitions is about pushing boundaries and doing things we haven't seen before

I'll try to fix up sidepanels, but I can't think of a good collar design and I'm not too keen on the pen tool to improvise as I go.
The template is a bit too flat for shading. imo.
Yeah, good point. Deleted.

Testing Ps 1.png
This is my second attempt at a jumper in Photoshop using El_Scorcho 's template. My first attempt was posted here, where Fizzler guided me to Stewart2Austin 's post from a while back. I went back and did this up with the new tips on board, and I am looking for advice on improving execution.

Some points
  • Just noticed I left the AFL logo up too high on the shorts, so don't worry about that
  • I put one of cannavo 's collars into it. This has sort of stuffed up the stitching, advice on that would be handy
  • I got stuck with the numbers, I had to rasterize the type because I don't have the font, and I couldn't change colour of it (other than the fill bucket)
p.s I wasn't sure where to put this, thought this was the best place, so NM_Mitchell, Gibbsy, or Dylan8, please do move it or tell me where to move it if its not the right place.

The link he posted is broken. So get it from here.
Also you can colour the numbers with colour overlay so you don't get jagged numbers. Double click the layer to find the colour overlay option.

That looks brilliant. A manufacturer logo belongs underneath the AFL logo. You can use the pen tool to create stitching OR go here to download one with stitching. Use colour overlay for the numbers or use a better font ;). Looks good mate :thumbsu:.

New collar, one of my favourite soccer collars, would look good on an AFL jumper and a new number font.:

It's a good start, but when you're making a collar, you should be able to use the back of the collar (that is seen behind the front of the collar) for both the back and front of the jumper.

However, if you did this it would look a bit odd, maybe try making it a little less curvy.
The collar isn't even lined up with the guernsey, so change that and then work on making it less curvy, maybe a little thinner.

Change the number font maybe?
I usually use number 6, just showing how 2 digits work

Hmm. Not sure what you mean. Does this look better?
