He reminds me of a ball boy
Missing this key aspect.

They also produced stuff like this for Ivan Lendl in the early 90's.
Once the look of a seasoned champion, but now the uniform of armies of private school flogs at over hyped festivals such as Falls and Splendour.

FWIW, the resurgence in popularity for classic tennis brands such as Fila, Diadora and Sergio Tacchini can somewhat be attributed to the vintage and limited appeal of many Borg and McEnroe garments by the newer breed of unoriginal football 'casuals'.
Man i forgot Ivan Lendl's hat! Imagine Federer rocking that today

I swear that anyone who isn't wearing Nike is wearing Lotto this year.

Also, pretty shitty that the ball kids have gone from being sponsored by Lacoste, a pretty prestigious tennis label, to being sponsored by Vegemite, a spread.

Really liking Nike's output this year. The pink is cool and the diagonal lines work really well.

Adidas' shirts are a bit more interesting as they've omitted the front logo entirely (see Tsonga today) and went for a much bigger sleeve logo instead

I don't really like them this year.

Adidas have stunk it up for ages with their bland colours, usually blacks with silver details or forgettable hues of light-ish blue, but now they're just following Nike's pallette.

Nike's whole pink thing was okay as a break, but that half bright, half pastel shade thing started at the 2010 World Cup from memory (with their grey boots with orangey pink backs). I like the way they generally use muted colours and then have just one or two pops of bright colours (either the shoes, socks, headbands, sweatbands, a line, a cuff or collar but never more than two or so of these things) but it's getting done now. The novelty of a bloke in pink has gone.

Dunno, the half-half has grounds to feel cool and unique – like the classic mid-2000s stripe – but it just doesn't seem that notable to me because it's either in ugly ass and try hard pink and black or it's bland black and grey. It would have been good if they'd invested in a few different colour combos but they just haven't.

I like the pink/black combo but can’t help seeing the complete package as a faded version of this.

Federer has left Nike for Uniqlo. Bit like seeing a 300 game player in a different club's guernsey for the first time.

The bigger story in this change is that Federer has had to give up his own brand identity to make the switch as the RF logo that appeared on all of his clothing was designed by Nike.

Wowwww.

Uniqlo suck too. Well the socks are a decent value and plenty of colours and the tees are fine but their shirts and pants are basically made for Asians with a 26" waist and no shoulders (I'm a unit). Their tennis stuff also has the similarly 'too tight, too long' thing as well. Fed usually wore the best of the Nike gear as well so it's a big surprise.

Just on this, I wonder what the biggest ever sponsor swap has been for an individual? This would be up there as he and Nike are so iconic, but I wonder if anyone's gone from Nike to Adidas at their peak or something?

The Uniqlo deal is reportedly worth $300 million USD over the next decade, irregardless of whether he's still playing tennis at that point (at 47 I'm pretty doubtful). His recently expires Nike deal was $100 million over 10 years, so it's pretty obvious that Uniqlo would have been too good to refuse.

Nike still have the rights to RF logo but Federer seems pretty adamant that he'll be getting the copyright on that pretty soon. Being with Uniqlo also means that he's able to sign an independent shoe sponsor, which you would think would be worth a tidy amount as well.

You've got plenty of places to buy off the rack m8. Let us small blokes enjoy the Asian tailored discounts. Uniqlo is sensational value, pretty much my entire work wardrobe is from there.
