Finals or bust is still my mandate for Buckley.

If we can't make the finals this year he should still be gone regardless of any promising form shown in the 2nd half of the year.
Ok, finals highly unlikely but here's a scenario anyway.
We need one more win by even the smallest margin, 10 seconds to go, Treloar breaks through the 50 and launches at goal, opposition player dives across to smother, claps his hands (old trick) and the Ump calls touched. It's called a point and the vision shows that ball cleared the player by a good foot. Pies miss the finals and Buckley is gone.
What if it's given the all clear? We play the Adelaide in Adeliade in the first final and get blown away in the last quarter by 10 goals. You can't deny that you'll be one of many who has given Buckley a massive two week stay in execution.

Wouldn't it just be easier to say "I want him gone regardless of what happens?"

Anyone think the reason why we signed Buckley for a 12 month extension before the season started was because there was an inkling we were going to struggle this season due to age/games played per player? Take the pressure off him and the club so they can have a proper focus on 2017?

I doubt it. I think they expected finals and the ability to extend the contract further coming into 2017. The timing of the extension certainly looks like an attempt to maintain stability and reduce media focus. Unfortunately giving Bucks 12 months, after such a bad season, means the spotlight will be intense next year. No chance now they can give a further extension coming into 2017.

Why would Bucks want Jong?

We have plenty of foot soilders that have suspect Disposal
Until Bucks and Jong meet up in Bali, there is no evidence of Bucks wanting him. Maybe someone from the club put their feelers out , which led to the article.

Nothin Bucks loves more than a foot soldier with suspect disposal. But seriously, Jong has some talent. Unusually good mark for his size.
The problem with Jong is, if he is in another team (as he is now) he is elevated beyond his ability. If he joined us tomorrow, he would diminish to being a potato level player.
Interesting phenomena.

That said, I'm not that keen on him. I'm a bit meh. Been there done that.

The only question we need to ask is this: will Lin Jong be in our next premiership team or contribute to our next premiership year? My guess is no. But if we pick him up for next to nothing it's worth the risk.

I'm neither here nor there on Jong. He's a little meh for me and not really what I see as someone critical for us to move forward. I'd think we are looking at packaging him with a pick/player in a bigger trade and he's being thrust in front of the media as a diversion.

Latest article says that word is Collingwood have cooled on him
After the furore about his visit I would be surprised if there was any other signal from the club. Once it was in the open, that would be the best way to stop the rumour mill.

Seriously Bucks looked like a deer caught in the headlights when being grilled by the media on his part in luring Jong to tour our facilities....When is the club going to call time on his coaching tenure??? Hopefully there is a full scale review at end of season and the club does what it needs to do!!!

agree about a review at end of season, but the recruiting department ask bucks to attend, so what does this have to do about his coaching

What about our 7 goals against top of the ladder geelong in the first qtr?

Cant argue about the brown omission against carlton though. Selection has been poor this year
Historically Buckley & the coaching committee **** up selection. Remember when he played Macaffer coming back from a knee reco on Walters from Freo when Marley had form in the VFL ? Obviously we lost and Freo had half a team in Dawson was rucking for half the game too FFS

This weeks selections are odd as well too many changes, many to the backline again. I doubt any other team changes their backline as much as we do.NFI !!!

So the key question now is whether we throw buckley out because:

1. He had a crappy zone defence
2. He changed his crappy zone defence which confirmed answer 1.

The only thing that is obvious is where we have gone with Buckley at the healm and that he cannot coach. His record speaks for itself !!

Firstly, your scenario is a pipe dream
The longer he stays and the harder we fall, tumble infact down the ladder

pay him out because the damage of another season with another directionless season can and will only hurt the club further.
I can't wait to have more 10 goal thrashings against team a few spots above us

Not sure your stretch is correct, blaming the "coach"
I think you'll find a a lot more players are chatting to a lot more people than we would ever know.

Looks like you are going to have a bad year in 2017 as Bucks will still be coach.

Oh look, some hysterical overreacting again!!!

Glad you accept 5 seasons of failure.
Oh we got a smart one here. A player tours the facilities of the club and the story makes it to the press. Embarrassing for all involved; player, club & coach.
So tell me this wise guy, where o where have I missed that this is related to Bucks or even better a direct result of his involvement.

The kneejerk reaction / melts of some people with their automatic "Blame Bucks" I find more embarrassing that the tribe the team sometimes dishes up. And as you can testify, that is an achievement not to be proud of.
