It's that time of the year again where we celebrate the worlds "greatest athletes". We finally hark back to traditions pleasing many old school fan where two teams, East and West battle it out for basketball supremacy and.....what do they actually win? NBA.com advised that the winning team wins money for their charity.
During the NBA All-Star Game, the East and the West will each represent a charity. The East will represent Special Olympics Indiana and the West will represent the Boys & Girls Club of Indianapolis. Each organization will start the game with $100,000, with an additional $240,000 going to the winning team.
Whilst a james worthy and noble idea, this raises many conflicts across the board, as Maggie Lewis, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Indianapolis bemoans:
"We are Pacer fans at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Indianapolis, but at the end of the day, we want to win. “So, go West!”
But first, let's cast an eye over the Panini Rising Stars event. MMMMM, feel like a panini right now.
But wait, there's more. I know you simply cannot wait till Saturday the 17th for the second Tay Tay concert at the MCG. Oh wait....the KIA Skills Challenge is on?
