Goodes never said the boos were racist in that video. Watching him there does make you want the boos to stop. The media and administrators are now culpable in this. Goodes presents an avenue for people to express their dissent toward those that tell them what to do.

I do hope Goodes gets a respectful send off in his last game if played outside of NSW.

I blame west coast supporters for this. What was going on there? What were they thinking? We're winning, it's all good but we're bored. What will we do? I know we'll boo goodes, but it was the volume and repetitious nature of it that drew the attention. What sort of mob mentality is that? They're having a good win and all they've got is booing.

Maybe people object to him trying to use our game to score political points. Maybe the boos are a reflection of people being fed up with his and others constant social justice campaigning. Maybe we'd prefer to just enjoy footy.

Goodes has said he's found the booing disappointing and frustrating. Arguably since the booing Goodes has been in his best run of tenish games in years- so it's not affecting his performance so booing him isn't impacting that.

My favorite though is the excuse he's been booed for years and he is booed by West Coast fans due to intense rivalry over the years or Hawthorn due to dog acts from X years ago. Of course these claims are easy to make but easily disproved.

Both against West Coast and against Hawthorn Adam Goodes (regardless of scoreboard) this year has been relentlessly booed. In 2012 this wasn't the case (when so many of his 'dog acts' and so much of the rivalry was before this). Funny isn't it.

Let's think back for a minute.

We recall Winmar's jumper lift at Victoria (Feral) Park in 1993. He and McAdam copped it all day from the toothless. His response was direct and blunt. Sadly - racism from over the fence has been prevalent. When Monkey did it to Longy it jumped the fence. The AFL had to act as it is now.

I've seen many games where Thomas is booed with pretty much every possession he gets. The only reason it isn't as documented is because Goodes is a bigger name.

Some people actually think that Goodes doesn't duck, dive and cheat. Everyone accepts that Lindsay does. That is the difference.

One of the things about club memberships is that if behaviour of an inappropriate nature does occur, those engaging in it lose their memberships and are banned.

Unfortunately no. I was there and saw it and also had it on record on TV but deleted it. I think there may be some on the game highlights but can't be sure. Yeo was also interviewed on local radio and said he wasn't happy with the treatment and reacted accordingly

People did not boo Winmar, and he stood up to feral Collingwood bogans not just a young girl, but then again Winmar did not act like his shit smelt like roses either.

I don't recall saying you were. I just think it's a bit strange that people join in with an action that quite obviously has a racist undertone to it, then are offended and demand that everyone recognise that their reasons for doing it are totally legit.

I think there are a lot of little things which put people off of him - the perception that he's a bit dirty, that he's a diver, that he didn't really deserve his second Brownlow, that he gets looked after by the Umps a bit.

Then add the racial stuff - I don't think it's racist, but I think a lot of people have an issue with the way he went about it; it could be perceived as antagonistic, and that's put people off side as well.

Now, I think it's become a laugh, so people just do it.
