Agreed. Best series of anything ever. I'm not a huge anime fan, but from the first time I saw this series I was likebfff said:
Is a masterpiece. Bought it on dvd and usually watch it once or twice a year. Also like Cowboy Bebop. As far as non anime cartoons go, I love Family Guy for mindless laughs, and Futurama for actually being well written, not just being funny but also hitting you with some emotional bits aswell.
As a kid my favourites were:
Star Blazers (I'm going to have to try and find a torrent of this, over 20 years since I saw it).
Scooby Doo
Astro Boy
Transformers
He-man
These days The Simpsons (old) and Futurama.
Who misses the days of cartoons from 6am to midday on a Saturday morning on commercial tv? Those days were way better then being subjected to yet another top 30/40 bloody music show.
And those who said Captain Planet are nuts. Each episode was 30 minutes of preaching wrapped in a smidgen of action. He-man at least kept it to a 30 second blurb at the end. Cartoons are best when they don't moralise.
