Gerrard is still struggling with his groin injury so it looks like we will be playing the same team that we did against Utd, except Aquilani should be on the bench for this one.

No Gerrard, Aquilani, Johnson, Riera AND probably no Torres!!!!

The first 4 confirmed as being unavailable.

Also heard it from someone pretty reliable that Torres is struggling big time and probably wont make it.

You're arse doesn't count as reliable you ****wit.

Torres will play. Aquilani will possibly make the bench. He's not injured. He's got a virus.

This will be the team.

------------- Reina -------------
Degen - Carragher - Agger - Insua
----- Mascherano - Lucas ------
Kuyt ----- Benayoun ----- Aurelio
----------- Torres -------------

D.Cav, Skrtel, Dossena, Spearing/Aquilani (If Aquaman is fit), N'Gog, Voronin, Babel

I'd like to see Pacheco on there, but Benitez hates youth - and he's probably still away with his shitty International youth team, anyway.

id tip aquilani and torres for the bench.

I think you may be right. There's no way Torres is anywhere near 100% fit. But with the other injuries and the recent memory of the hideous performance at Sunderland, Benitez will feel Torres has to at least play some part in the game. But its still a big risk.

It'd just be our luck that after Aquilani finally makes his debut (all of 13 minutes) he contracts Swine flu.

We're copping a few injuries at training recently. Johnno this week and Riera about a fortnight ago. What the hell's going on there? The International fixtures are bad enough for us without players also keeling over in what are supposedly controlled environments.

All in all our lineup for tomorrow is now looking quite a worry. Other than Masch for Spearing you've got pretty much the team that did us so 'proud' at the Stadium of Shite. I'm predicting a similar performance...beach balls notwithstanding.

I thought we played quite well against Arsenal and were unlucky not to at least take it to extra time. It's disappointing that we are out of the League Cup as it is now silverware we cant win but beating Arsenal at Emirates is always going to be difficult.

I did think that we played pretty well though. Despite the bashing Voronin gets and although he was partly responsible for Arsenal's opener, I though he played really well. His link up play and passing and movement were all really good. No end product though. Babel was shite as usual, missed an absolute sitter late on that Kuyt put on a platter for him.

Degen is dismissed by most Liverpool players as being utter rubbish. But he has literally being injured the entire time he has been with us. Now injury free, he is starting to show us why Rafa was interested in him in the first place. Has good control and passing, is solid defensively and runs forward like a madman! He has pace and created all sorts of problems for Arsenal with his marauding runs forward. With Johnson out for the trip to Fulham, I wont be disappointed to see Degen in the side.

Insua's goal was awesome though, apart from a couple of games, he has been absolutely terrific this season. Really making left back his own. Aurelio shouldnt feel bad though as he has been very good every time ive seen him play and with Babel and Riera being absolute gash, I can see Aurelio spending quite a bit of time on the left wing this season.

Oh and Aquilani, wow. I was impressed. He got the ball deep in his own half and then he looked up, composed and promptly knocks it 40 yards up the right wing right onto Degen's right boot at full pace. It was a Xabi like pass and something ive longed to see all season. Lucas in the same spot, would pass back to Carra or pass 5 yards sideways to Masch. Aqua is gonna make us a much better side than we are right now, even though Lucas was terrific against Utd.

For the Fulham match, there are rumours going around that Torres is struggling which will suck as we really need him to be fully fit with Gerrard again missing out. N'Gog is coming on in leaps and bounds which is great to see, but he is no Torres. Hopefully this is how we lineup.

Reina
Degen CarrAgger Insua
Masch Lucas
Kuyt Benayoun Aurelio
Torres

D.Cav, Dossena, Skrtel, Babel, Voronin, Spearing, N'Gog

I hope Aquilani is on the bench but from all reports he wont make the squad. Gerrard and Johnson are obviously out. If Insua isnt ready to go as he has played a lot of football lately then move Aurelio back to LB and bring Babel on and move Insua to the bench.

We really have to beat Fulham to keep up the momentum.

For some lulz, I backed us to win 3-0 @ $17.00.

I think we've got them covered.

I also backed us for a 1-0 @ $7 with Torres first goal scorer $4.50 and to score any time at $1.90

Torres will have a fitness test tomorrow and should start.

Ngog has a sore throat and may not make the bench.

Aquilani has told Rafa that he wants to be involved and may make the bench.

Gerrard, Johnson and Riera defo not involved.

One last bit of team news.....big rumour that VORONIN MAY START WITH TORRES!!!

Has it been confirmed that Gerrard is going under the knife or is that not happening anymore?
I think he will be given until the Lyon game to improve and if he doesn't, then he will have surgery.

I think there might been a bit of the english press syndrome going around Melwood this week. Other than the RB position I think we will line up the same way as we did against ManUre.

Torres appears to be fit enough to start, I would expect to see some more of N'gog late on. Lucas seems fine. I read an interview with Rafa somewhere where he said Lucas was sick for a day or two but was fine now. He hoped Aquilani may have had same virus, and may make bench.

As for who will play RB??? I would be happy with seeing Degen, he hasn't looked that bad in the couple of games I have seen him in. Good going forward, maybe a bit weaker defensively. The only other real choice is Carra, and that doesn't excite me greatly. Rafa could pull one out of the bag and maybe try a Doss or Fabio at RB I guess.

Carragher refuses to play at right-back - and having seen him do it once last year when there was no other option, it's probably a good thing that he does.

Degen might as well have a go, seeing as the 2 best right backs are out.

Marty Skrtel at RB? Surely...

We all remember how well he played there against Boro ;)

If Aquaman was fit enough to start, Mascherano could play RB (has done so before against Sunderland).

I'd be very happy with Degen at RB. It's time he was given a chance to show something.

I thought Masch would be missing due to his red card last week?
