Um, I fell asleep after 10 minutes, what happened?

;) :D
We lost and yet I'm very proud of the team. Gerrard not playing and Torres basically a spectator and yet we scored 4 - Un-bloody-believable! Xabi was immense just ran the engine to perfection, Masch was terrific as well and Fabio what a beautfiul free kick - that was no luck, it was all planned you could see him pointing to the bench after he scored. We had them on the ropes just before half time, then Pepe makes a mistake and it's all gone pear shaped.

Drogba gave us problems yet again (despite the ****ing diving you fat ****) and Skrtel wasn't good enough to handle him. I really thought Agger should have played this one, and would have offered something going forward as well. Benayoun was fantastic again, he keeps improving and will be crucial going into the last 7 matches.

our defence was pretty bad tonight
Carragher is really losing his pace.
have we settled Agger's contract yet? we need to sign him bad!
Skrtel is not up to it.

what a game ..
first of all congrats to chelsea .. even though it pains me to see the likes of drogba go through, but couldn't of asked for a more valiant effort from our men.
I said to my dad that if we could score 4 at old trafford we could at the bridge, shame about the soft few that went through though.

tonight all i wanted some fight .. and they fought until the final whistle.
all in all the red men including the supporters did us proud

Thought Skrtel was okay.

Carragher is on the decline, but he's also tired. Played a lot of minutes for someone his age. A high octane game he plays too.

I'd give Agger and Skittles a run for a few games.

A performance like that only breeds confidence, only breeds desire, and breeds success.

That's why we support Liverpool. Performances like that.

So amazingly proud! :)

When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown..
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.......
You'll never walk alone.

Skrtel is very much up to it.

When Drogba is switched on like that, no-one can handle him.

We do need to tie-up Dagger, he cannot leave.

I thought Carra was pretty poor tonight to be honest.

At the end of the day, the Mighty Reds were a chance to pinch it with five minutes to go...no-one barring the absolute optomist would have predicted that, especially having seen Chelsea put three in by that stage, and Ste' in the stands as an onlooker. A real sense of redemption following last weeks effort. I am alos proud to have stayed up and watched that. Let's hope the freed up schedule can help us chase the real prize now.

"Each of the Chelsea fans were handed a plastic flag to create an atmosphere.

These guys dont need them, they get their own" <-In ref to the travelling Kop.

Clive Tildsley

great quote that

Oh come on, Chelsea didn't have a sniff until that first goal and then Alex scores a ridiculous free kick. Masch comes off and it's open slather from then on (I knew Fat Franky would score when Masch subbed off)

Exactly. Now we need Arsenal to have a sapping match tomorrow morning and then on the weekend.

Preferrably we need Man Utd to advance past Porto and have a tough FA Cup semi final too.

We cannot afford to drop points at all in the league from now on, we have to take 18 from 18.

The freed up schedule and a week off until our next league game will do us wonders.

An all round atrocious game from both sides. Chelsea basically sat back from the outset and allowed your mob to score 2 cheap easy goals. Woke up in the 2nd half, grabbed the momentum, went to sleep again and gifted it back to the opposition. Just terrible, apart from the avalanche of goals it was a very amateurish performance. The nerves got the better of the players especially Chelsea's.

We didn't really have a choice though (in regards to the Masch substitution).

But yeah, I do agree, once he went off... it was open slather (which more often that not... happens).

Lucas is better in an advanced role (and we needed Alonso in a deeper lying position).

A Jose fan? I'm sure we all would have loved another 0-0.

No, I'm not that defensively minded. But a decent attempt at defending would have been nice. That terrible defensive performance wouldn't cut it in the A League, it was riddled with so many basic mistakes. I can only assume that the occassion got to them.

Or you could assume that Liverpool's attacking pressure caused a few mistakes in the Chelsea defence. We had plenty of possession and looked pretty sharp.

Ivanovic rugby tackling Alonso in the box for one.

Once we got 2-0 up, you were desperate to slow down the game, and every single player dived and won countless free-kicks from a whistle happy free kick.

You walked through our defence because we took off our best holding midfielder to go and try and win the game, we also were attacking a lot, leaving lots of space for Chelsea on the counter.

It was a great performance from us, and you profited from an excellent 1st leg performance, meaning we had to go forward - leaving gaps for top class players to exploit.

It was obvious to me that Gerrard was never really a chance to play.

He was never a chance to see any game time against Blackburn, he was only on the bench so Chelsea thought he was a chance to play against them.

In all likelihood, he wont play (at least start) against Arsenal either.

It will be 12 days since the injury by the time we line up against Arsenal and in reality, that's just not long enough.

Im proud of the lads but at the end of the day we are out of the CL which is disappointing.

If we cant overrun United it's another trophyless season.

Despite that, I still believe we are making progress.

We never lie down. I love that.

If we can beat Arsenal in a weeks time it really sets up our charge. Arsenal is easily the toughest fixture we have in our remaining games.

Oh and on Drogba. I really, really, really hate him. I know he is a good player but he flops about all the time. He's a cheat. Ive never seen any player spend so much time on the ground. Particularly someone so big and strong. Complete w***er.

Mighty proud of the lads - No Gerrard and Torres little influence yet we score four goals and go down swinging.

If i wanted to be brutally harsh i would go - "****ING REINA" - That blunder turned the whole game on its head. Up until then we were spanking the Chavs. It looked like only a matter of time before we went 3-0 up.

As for Drogba - the guy is a cheat. Pity Torres does not get half the free kicks that dog gets.

Now we need to get up for the Arsenal game - at least we have plenty of time to get ourselves ready.

Watching Chelsea play is the most frustrating game. They turn it into a free kick session with every player diving and sooking. Drogba was even trying to deny he dived after he took a shot.

Masch coming off opened their attack up when Riera was pushing forward trying to create something... Torres was out of it without Gerrard when we play one up front. He had a few chances but couldnt beat 3 guys.

Ivanovic was found out when the pressure was on he was terrible. Renias miss on drogbas goal cost us. If that had not of gone in I think we would have been a better chance.

I hope we play well in the league now. We cant afford to be giving away draws and need to beat arsenal. If Lucas hadnt of scored I would have been pretty upset with his game. I didnt think he gave us much at all.

Their fans would have to be the biggest down hill skiers going around. Dead silent when we were anywhere near to winning the game.

jlc

Reina doesn't let that in, then we're probably off to Barcelona. Harsh, but that's the game sometimes. But we can't put the blame on one player, especially someone who's been so good for us like Pepe has.

Some fault lies with Aurelio and Skrtel - but I think Benayoun was the one who really stuffed up.

I remember watching at the time, and you could see Anelka was running into a paddock, Yossi just didn't realise quick enough - and was half asleep - didn't get the position he should have been to cut the ball out - and Anelka was away.

A key moment.

But everything about this morning reminds me why I love this club. The fans, the heart and spirit of the players, the way they played for the fans, the pride they have in the shirt and the way they did the 96 so proud. That's Liverpool. You can't buy a mediocre club and turn it into a great one.

Great clubs are always great. Always will be great. Liverpool is even beyond great. I love Liverpool Football Club.

YNWA.
