Ladies and gentlemen (almost certainly just gentlemen). As we now sit a week away from the much anticipated release of AFL Live, it's unofficial home is gearing up to take on the country. Leagues have been formed, drafts taken place, and there's a sense of drama in the air as noone quite knows who the big guns will be.
So how do we crown someone number one? Who gets to wear the tag for the rest of their lives (or at least until Round 2 is held) as the single greatest AFL Live player in the universe?!?!?!?!?!?
The answer is simple. A straight knockout competition between everyone who is interested, able, and on the ps3. One bad game and you are gone. Get a dream run and who knows how far you can go. There will be no excuses, no disclaimers, and no complaints. Only the very best will hold on to the death.
I will do it as follows:
- Show your interest in this here thread, including your psn.
- Whatever name is under your BF username is the team you will use. And before everyone assumes the Collingwood fans have an instant advantage, remember, there are no excuses. If you are good enough, you will win. Besides, don't be a filthy turncoat.
- A random, first round draw will be made. Winners will advance to another random draw, and so on, giving it an FA Cup-esque feel. Cinderella stories welcomed and encouraged.
- First round matches will begin exactly 10 days after the release of the game. That will be enough time for people to get used to controls, and the leaders begin to shine. Keep in mind it's 10 days after release, not after you get it. Remember, no excuses, if you're good enough, you'll win.
- Results will posted here, as well as extended banter. Once we get to the pointy end, match previews will be supplied, and buildup to each game will increase.
Now, any suggestions for better names of the final trophy are welcomed, and perhaps if enough interest can be gained, and we're all good little boys and girls, we can talk Ant into supplying some form of prize ie; a Supporters Club membership of some form.
Dare you stand up and test yourself against the best BigFooty has to offer!?! Will your skills match your ridiculously stupid questions in the main thread!?! Or will you submit to the pressure of every eye in the BigFooty AFL Games board baring down on you!?!

As this is technically not a league, could we pwetty pwease leave it in this main board?? The traffic for this board would be considerably higher than the Leagues and Stories board, and we want as many people as possible to get involved. In return I offer you my finest stallion, and lifelong gratitude.
